View Full Version : WDE March 19: Garlic (from veggie still life)

I did the garlic bulb that was in the veggie still life reference. It's done in fluid acrylics on canvas board, using glazes on top of masking fluid. It's 6X8. It's always dicey working with masking fluid, but I'm pretty pleased with how it worked out.

To me, it looks like what would happen if you crossed a bulb of garlic with a jellyfish and lit it with fibre optics... ;)

I had to laugh at your jellyfish reference!! I like the crop of the garlic and the color to this. Very nice!!!

I love how this turned out!! You always come up with something different and creative. My first thought was jellyfish :D. Glad you decided to play this weekend. Good work :wave:

What kind do you use?

I'm using watercolour masking fluid, it works OK for a nice ragged feel, but I'd love something I had more control over. What are you (Valri or anyone else reading) using?

Nancy, I really like the way you use the masking fluid for acrylics - must try it - it gives your work a unique style.
Love this jelly fish - sorry, garlic bulb!! ;)
