Have not posted here in a long time !! Have just retired and hope to spark my love for painting again......
Enjoyed doing this painting of my son as he was fishing early AM on Bonnet Shores in RI while we all vacationed there last summer. This will be a Father's Day gift from my 3 grandsons to their Dad !! They are 5, 7 and 10 years old !!!!
This was done on watercolor paper 9 x 12 on smooth side. Used mainly Nupastels, Winsor Newton, and pastel pencils for the details.
All comments are most welcome and I'm glad to be back

What a lovely gift for your Grandsons to give to their Dad! I like your viewpoint. It makes me feel as if I'm there looking over his shoulder. Well done, we're glad you are back too.

What a lovely gift for your son. The only thing I see slightly bothersome is the halo you've left around his head. I almost wish I could see more of his face though as the writing on the T-shirt wants to take the attention from it. You might also want to move your signature up and in so that when it is framed it isn't covered up. I really like the soft colors you've used here.. definately evokes that calm one gets when out in nature doing something relatively quiet.

Hi Claude - Nicely done!!!
What's the expression... even a bad day fishing beats a good day at work...?
Good piece and I'm glad you are back painting again!
Watch for the "halo" effect next time around the head. It looks like perhaps you re-sized the back of his head and it's slightly different than the rest of the background.
Mind you... the only reason I know this... is because I'm guilty of it myself.
Enjoy! - hear you guys are having some spring weather - Barb :)
