View Full Version : WDE Mar 12 No No... Not a Van Gogh

Hi everybody! Helen, thanks for hosting! :)

I finally got sick. Been hovering over my sick DH long enough, it finally got me. Then, I made my irises sick..... :o

They started out okay, after 30 minutes..... (4x6 watercolor)....

Then, I tried to Van Gogh them. Nope.... not even close! :(

Too sick to do anything else this weekend, so here goes..... (probably another hour fiddling, off and on).... In the spirit of the WDE...

Man..... that is one UGLY painting.   I should be ashamed of myself. :p

Thanks for looking. I'll be back later to comment. :)

Doesn't look ugly on my screen! I'll take your word for it that you don't like it, but maybe it's because you're feeling uglish.
Hope you and your sweetie feel better soon!

I agree with the others Beth (they're fine at both stages - actually like #1 - delicate) - nothing looks good when you're poorly though.

Please look after yourself - and get well soon.

I hope you get to feeling better quick. I love the colors of the second one. I think both of them are nice. Thanks for showing them!

I can relate to how you feel.. If the hand doesn't do what our expected we sometimes tend to judge the pieces a bit harshly.

Sorry you are sick! Hope you feel better soon. Sometimes we are our worst critics. I think the colors are vibrant and I like what you did with the leaves.

I do hope you are feeling better now. I think you are brave to take risks with the paint because that's the way you will find out what you think works and what you think doesn't work. Glad you posted your piece so you can see that others appreciate your courage and enjoy the process along with you.

Beth - I think the black outline helped perk up the irises. Maybe we can do that to you. lol Hope you're feeling better.
