First of all thank you for the great images.

I have found it very useful to get my sketchbook out and do some loose thumbnail sketches of all the images (I did it last week too).

I'm posting the giraffe from last week that I had not quite finished in time (7.75 x 7.75 inches on Sennelier 140 lb paper)

Siren - same size - same paper. I'm afraid I made her look too young--not very happy with the likeness, either, but here it is.

The coyote is on the way.

I will have to check on everyone's work later on...

I really like Siren--you captured her very well--and the overall feel of the reference too.

Wonderful giraffe. Stunning youthful portrait. You have a skill if you make the people in portraits look younger. I tend to make people look older :)

She almost looks like a sea goddess. Very nice!

Both are wonderful! I believe it takes a special skill to render flesh this nicely in watercolor.

thank you all for your very kind comments.

And here is Charlotte. BTW, this is the name of the green sea turtle of Mystic Aquarium that was injured and rescued and lives there now. I have just finished the illustrations for a children's book about her story...She is paralyzed (maybe temporarily) and it causes bubbles to form in her G.I. tract, so the name of the book?----Bubble Butt!

Anyway, this Charlotte was too pretty to pass by --- it's 7 x 10 watercolor - and I totally lost track of time. Probably 2 hours.
