I will be posting 16 images ...and a small challenge :cat:

Please wait until all are uploaded before commenting - thank you.

You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials - you may use any medium.

For the next two hours, just go for it……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

When you introduce your work, please add a description of size, medium, support (paper, canvas etc) and time taken.
If your work is digital, we'd appreciate a description of whether it's freehand drawing/painting, manipulated image or done using the filters available in some programmes - you could also say which programme you've used.
All are acceptable but we'd like to know the "hows, whys and wherefores"!!

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

NB. To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work during the weekend, for the current WDE, into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!
From the following TUESDAY, you may open a new thread for later work.

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). If you finish a piece after that time, we now run a 'Catch-up' thread in the forum each month where you can post any WDE not completed in its allotted week .... it's a sticky near the top of the forum page.

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage when you can. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

I am also including a link so that you may see the images anytime till the WC is back up and running here's the linkto the WDE photo set in Picasaweb (http://picasaweb.google.ca/innovatique/WDE532010#)

For the landscape artist in you....

A little trip in the Old Quebec city... and a little bit of fancy perspective
Back in Gatineau... The headquarters of the local Arts Council (in the attic)

The rebuilt covered bridge in Wakefield on the Gatineau River (the previous one was destroyed by arsonists)

Just a few miles east, a spring lake created by the beavers

And a small creek running across the woods in Gatineau Park

...More to come....

A few faces followed by a few critters....

This cute little face is Gaël-Erwan my two year old grand-son
(please use for WDE only...)

A 1967 photo, of a siren on board the sailboat (no wonder I married her!)

My latest hearthbreak... Charlotte the Coyotte, my golf partner

And a very tired Mulligan after trying to corner the two grandsons in the backyard (in orther words, "I prefer to stick to sheep and lambs!")
Ad for those who believe only in primary colours, a tropical fish from the aquarium in the local Thai restaurant...

Some loose ends....

In praise of the olympics, and for those who like colour and movement : Speedskaters from the Olympic trials....

what is life without strawberries.....

A sign of Spring.... Crocus in my backyard

An easy subject, the windmill on a farm south of Ottawa.... against a beautiful sky

And a nice walk in the Gatineau Hills in a remote area

The challenge : Brush away the Winter blues... replace the blue in one of the pictures by another colour of your choice (be it purple, yellow, green or white.... monochromes are OK)

I wish you a ton of fun......

Nice pictures Alain is Charlotte a pet coyotte?
Charlotte was introduced as a puppy by the Provincial Wildlife biologists as a mean of controlling the population of the wild geese on the golf course. Over time, she became accustomed to the club members and she is quite tamed. She considers golf balls as geese eggs and will hunt them down the fairway.
I normally play early in the morning and late in the afternoon, her favourite time for "foxing" around the golf course. Whenever I play alone, she will follow me for 5 or six holes. This is when I have the opportunity to take photos.... I think she is not afraid of my camera.

I wish I wasn't out of town this weekend...I hate working!!!
I have a huge pile of WDE's to get to and this will be no exception.
Saving your wife, your golf partner and the skaters.
Maybe next week I can dive in and get all the back logged WDE's done (started)
Thanks for hosting...at least I can lurk and comment

Beautiful shots, Alain! I'm sure you've been asked this many times...What kind of camera are you using for all this great photography?

I normally use a digital Pentax K100 body, but I have a series of lenses that I switch...
(Sometimes, I also use a Canon Rebel which belongs to my son and that is equipped with macro lenses)

For film/slides I also have a Mamiya SLR with Pentax/Takumar lenses and a Russian made Zorki with fine Jupiter lenses...

And on the fly, I use a Pentax Optio which I keep in the tote bag with my plein-air stuff.

Gee, I just checked in the the WDE to see what is posted up for this current event -- and what a surprise to see the old Symmes Hotel in Aylmer!
(I live just across the river in Ottawa.)
A lovely bunch of photos of some places close to home, and others not. Great selection -- thanks!
