View Full Version : Frosty Willows

Well, I wanted to paint as much as I can before the baby comes in September, but I really haven't been feeling up to it over the past few weeks. But slowly I got something done. I don't think a winter scene was a good choice for when I'm feeling so tired and impatient, lol.
16x12" on hardboard.

Lavender I really like the "cold" beauty of your painting. I admire the way you've painted the leafless trees, they look super! shrl

You capture the frost on the branches quite well, this is very effective. I wish for summer also but winter as you depicted it is lovely.
Beautiful! Love the trees. Thought it was a photo too!

Michelle....my fellow "tree-houser"!! I love it!! And so many hugs!!!! Doesn't Auntie or Granny Susan have a nice ring to it??? You are just soooo far away! I won't be able to sneak a cuddle...sigh! So happy for you!!

I too would have mistaken it for a photograph , had I not been familiar with your distinctive style. Fascinating to see the intricate pattern of the branches of the trees delicately handled and the areal perspective .
It made me think of a photo. Great capture of winter landscape.

Love the perspective you chose for this one. It just pulls you into the picture. Congratulations on the upcoming baby too. I was on bed rest most of my last pregnancy with the twins, and painting kept me sane. Get a good comfy lap easel and try not to spill paint on the bedding.

Thank you everyone for all the compliments and the congrats. I really wasn't sure about this one, it felt like I was just scribbling, lol.
That's cool Sherry! I hope the morning sickness isn't too bad for your daughter.
Well Auntie Susan, I guess you'll have to settle for virtual cuddles, lol.
Sharon, luckily I'm not stuck in bed. Just spend a lot of time on the couch watching movies. But everyone tells me it will get better soon.
Oh, I forgot to mention that my reference was a photo that my mom took in her yard. They planted many of those trees.

Those trees are magical, they have so much uniquue character!
Congrats on the baby on the way.

Those trees are awesome Michelle so I hope painting keeps your mind off the less agreeable aspects of pregnancy and we get lots more treats like this!!!!
Huge congratulations about the upcoming event - lovely news - and lots of hugs from another Tree-Gang auntie

Beautiful, Michele! I love the muted colors.
I didn't know you were expecting. Congrats! How exciting. I'm trying to get a little painting done now (baby is 2mo), but it's definitely slow going. Even a couple minutes is rewarding, though.
