That is not what I was expecting from the thread name, awesome colors, unexpected and positively glowing. I especially like the foreground treatment.

Beautiful explosion of color. A lot different from the usual bland light houses scenes we are accustomed to seeing.

This is the best Light house painting I have seen on this site.
Thanks for sharing.

What I like:

Looseness (building could be a little looser)

the "wash out" effect going into the bottom of your painting

I hope this is appreciated by the people you show it to personally

Thanks Elise, and Mary how do I find that post?

very colourful, I think maybe the sky is taking a bit away from the lighthouse, just a thought, but----------well done--------Alan

Alan, This is an extraordinary work. The way you have used warm colors in the background and foreground - yet it reads so perfectly! How did you do it?

I suspect it is due to the placement of warm colors next to cool colors in the background (very exciting!) and in the foreground the use of warm complementary colors side-by-side.

I am sure that this was not a concious plan - maybe just something borne of your experience in the medium?

Whatever it is - it is a magnificent work - well done.
