The ball is starting to roll again, there are some slight changes for Life Drawing this year. Thursday nights are back:D... there will be a new 'Sketch Club' at a new venue for the next 8 Saturdays, :D and there will be one Tuesday night a month.. and possibly two portrait sessions a month :)

so here is this years first instalment
from Thursday, all A3... three 10 minutes, two 15's and a 20 minute.

Hooray for Thursday nights Mac :D and all the others, looks like an exciting year ahead for you and for us following. :)

Wonderful faces from Thursday but I think you should post them individually so we can see their full magnificence :)

A few lines, a scritch here, a scratch there. And there you are, voila, ART! Fifteen minutes would not even suffice for me to find my charcoal, HA!

Good to see you haven't lost your touch, Mac. Amazing stuff for relatively short poses!

Awesome sketches. I love your style nd the moodiness you get with such quick poses. These are just wonderful!

I can't believe what beautiful results you get from such a short amount of time! That face with the turn of the head- fabulous!
(the second one looks like a hard pose to hold.... ha ha!)

Dave, the solution for falling numbers was to make our Tuesday group a monthly one... but then this other group started up in a nearby region and if it's popular they might run it by terms:D
I don't think any are any magnificent enough to post fully... the last female figure one is a classic case of overworking... I should have stopped at 15 minutes!

Wanda, yes I thought I'd give 'scratchy' a try, it seems to work for some artists, and I tend to be rather 'heavy' lined!

William yep, I'll second that!

Michael, its a bit like riding a bike... but I want to be a better rider!

Mike, its good to be on the way again!

thanks Susan, yes I can't do 'academic'

Bethany, I think that face was better before I overworked it... but there will be plenty more... and I think the model was a little more comfortable than she looks here ;)

thanks Dan!

Dave asked for some larger pics, I didn't really think I was back in the swing yet but here's a couple that may be interesting.

I'm so glad the ball has started to roll again

I was arching my neck to get a better view of that reclining figure (middle one, topmost row), which is my favorite, when I scrolled down to find a bigger, upright version! Thank You for that pic!

Your lines describe so much with so little

Good to see you back at it Mac and I don't think you could get far from your swing ! Last one is my favourite you could title it "morning"

I'm so glad the ball has started to roll again

thanks, yes I feel I'm going to expand my horizons this year ... and am hoping to raise my bar a little higher as well!

Trevor, I certainly miss it when the swing isn't moving

and he calls that one with empty cup and just wearing a hat, "after the races" :p
