This is the latest in this series - first one, Saltmarsh, is here (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=604535)

It's acrylic with a little collage.

The day really was this blue - intensely blue sky and sea that seemed to merge, The sea here at the very tip of England is wild - waves come in from across the Atlantic. Around the rocks the bubbles trapped in the water from the breaking waves make the sea turn a beautiful milky eau-de-nil colour.

The Crowns are the old mine workings perched precariously on the steep cliff near the village of Botallack in Cornwall. It would have been a scary walk down to the engine house but then the tunnels go a few miles out under the sea. In bad weather they would hear the boulders grinding just a few feet above their heads on the sea floor.

The old stone buildings seem to grow out of the rock, be a part of the landscape, blending in.

I love this area :)

Wow, I feel like I am really there. Reminds me of some of the California coast. Well done!

thank you everyone :)

It does have something in common with California - the waves and cliffs and wildness.

thanks Noodle :)

I've done a bit more to this to resolve a couple of issues I had with it
