Hi everyone. Welcome to childrens' corner!:p

We had a project running last year on children's book illustrators, called 'Once upon a time'. Maybe you joined in? Or maybe you wanted to but didn't have time? We hope to run it this year too.

Do you have some favourite illustrators you would like to see in this project for 2010?

Please list them in this thread so we can compile a list of illustrators to visit this year!

And ...if you would love to be the host for the month we visit YOUR favourite illustrator.... please pm a classical forum guide or moderator.

We would love to hear from you!!

My favourites have always been Hergé (creator of the Tintin comics), Uderzo (illustrator of the Asterix comics) and Cicely Mary Barker, creator of the famous flower fairy series.

More obscure is bloke named Janusz Grabianski (I grew up with a volume of Andersen tales that he illustrated) but his work is not commonly available on the web or anywhere else. Very atmospheric works in ink and watercolour, somewhat reminiscent of Chinese brush painting.

Had not heard of Janusz Grabianski, but I found some of his illustrations in google images. Very beautiful flowing style.
