This is an acrylic on shaped canvas 20" across, 17" down the long side.
[A nanny is a female goat].

Firstly, dumb as it may sound, I never thought of painting on an odd shaped canvas ever before. Wow! I love it.
She seems to be carrying many babies in her womb. Lovely texture.
Is the lighting result of external source of light or is that how the actual painting is?

That's really interesting; and I love the abstract animal shape...although it doesn't really read "goat" to me at first. (Of course I used to have goats, so I'm maybe a bit prejudiced!)

Great job with the custom canvas. I like the way you fit the goat in.

I very like the shape of the goat and the way it fills the canvas!

Unusual and creative piece. It might just be me but when it comes to people animals birds etc I like to see eyes. There is so much expression character and personality that is lost without them abstract or otherwise, what do others think? I am not saying it cannot be done by silhouette and texture alone but that is quite a challenge. I do like your piece though I am thinking of Picasso and his fabulous animals masks etc.

Very pleased that everyone liked the goat--the actual color is on the right side of the piece--the left side has a light "leak" and is brighter than it should be.

Gal--this piece is more about the relationship between the shape of the animal and the shape of the canvas--eyes would distract from that.
