Here is a new painting which I have just completed. It was a exercise copied from a library book, but I was trying to practice detail painting, rather than drawing skills.

It is 12x14 inches, in Cryla artists acrylics, on canvas board. I'm pretty happy with it - especially with the sense of depth and variety of tones.

Please do give any comments or criticism - let me know how I can improve.

nice and free and the sea really is that colour down there :) well on a good day!

Is that a tiny little harbour down towards Lands End? it looks familiar and I can't remember the name.

Thank you all so much for the kind comments.

Unfortunately I have to confess that I don't know where it was in Cornwall, because I haven't been there - this was copied from a book.

But I feel like I've been there...

Hi

Cropping the top green area to me improves an already fine painting, well done!

Have to agree with Flattwo, very good painting but that green keeps pulling my eyes away from the rest of it.

Wonderful colours and style. The green is a bit distracting and you might want to mute and lighten the colour.
