I love posting WIPs. Whenever I start something massive I like to post picks along the way as a reminder to finish the piece  It seamed to have been working with my coloured pencil image in the cp forum, so I'll try this here then - another massive project I thought I'd undertake for my own amusement blahhh  So totally feel free to get on my backside about getting this done!
This is going to be a mixed medium project. I'm planning on using acrylics, graphite, pen, india ink, as well as charcoal if applicable (whatever it takes to get the job done, eh??) I've started with a basic outline as you may or may not be able to see ;) There is a lot more to it... this is just a piece that fit on my scanner. I'm planning on going this in the style of my chrome piece I did ages ago for a project on here - applying what I've learned, I suppose.
I've started here putting in the darker inked areas. Also, I have ourlined the entire thing with black pen.

This looked cool even before I realized what it was. I've never done a dragon, this is going to get me inspired to give it a shot.:)

I love it when you post WIPs. Watching you develop your pictures from sketches just blows my mind. The only thing beter would be to watch you work in person.

Okies :D So I got to work on this now today again - now since I no longer need to work on that cp drawing, and I ususally wait a day between painting to let the oils kind of set... It's nothing too exciting. Well. It took long enough. I've got into more of the inking as you can see, using some pens. Also, I added some india ink in the larger sections (I need a real pen nib or something.. Me sitting on the floor using different sized pieces of Bamboo to draw with hasn't been my favourite thing... or has it?) And then added some black paint to cover larger parts of the background so I could get a feel of what this would all look like with the dark background. I'm actually surprized. I have been using acrylic tole paint, and dry brushing it on and have had minimal warping... so yeah I'll probably end up ironing it down the road, but hey thats fine with me. Also.. I have more of this done, it just seams that I am having troubles fitting the key areas that i worked on *onto* the scanning area. Ack. need larger scanner... or camera... hmmm....

So enough rambling. I'll continue with the inking, then start in with the graphite.
