Ana ~ Stunners for sure. Did you notice that Rain Shower looks like a cat face? Cool!

Debby ~ Love the colors and, of course, your technique.

I'm definitely envious of all of you bead makers out there. I'm a mean marble maker among other things, even hollow beads, but when it comes down to using a mandrel, I suck at beads. Here's my latest mandrel beads(be gentle, lol). Please excuse the dust.

You don't suck, Starfire, those are beautiful!!!

Thank you, Starlight. It's just that I have virtually no experience with beads on mandrels. When I first started lampworking in 2004, I was using soft glass on 1/16 in. mandrels and it didn't seem difficult to get the edges even. I worked with soft glass for only a couple of months before I switched over to hard glass and ended up melting the mandrels. So now, 6 years later, I'm trying again, with borosilicate, on 1/8 in. mandrels and no matter what I do, I cant get the edges right and I end up fire polishing the edges after it cools and I can clean it.

Absolute gorgeousness today! Starfire, all you need to do is clean out the bead poop! ;) They look fabulous - like grapes!

Here's a new Tree...

oh boy... I really love all those beads so far!

I am so proud of myself... didn't think I could do something this size on my HH: 4cm tall and 2.5cm wide... trying to keep it all warm drove me nuts!

I was going to just admire and lurk today but then ... the flamingo.

Girlfriday, I don't know why but I'm a sucker for flamingos ... LOVE yours!

And as for everyone else, great stuff!

Ana, don't know how you do it. Amazing everyday.

Debby, I have a bead that is almost identical which I made after discovering your fabulous tutorial.

Starfire, I too think those are great. Try adding more glass to your base; it might help you achieve the edge effect you're after. I'm going in the opposite direction from you ... I'd love to get into boro but, as you suggest, it's SO different from soft glass.

Amber, I love your trees. Keep 'em comin'!
