An island, a tall cool drink, and a babysitter located OUT OF HEARING RANGE! Ah, toddlers.

Seriously, though. I've posted this before, but here's a little fairy for you all.

This is so delicate and lovely, well done!!! I hadn't seen it before, either! See, this is why we needed this forum ... I miss all this fantasy art that is scattered through all the other forums. :)

I'm getting off topic, but that reminds me of this one I took a few weeks ago. The plants are Tithonia 'Torch'...which I planted specifically for butterflies and hummingbirds. Bumble bees like them too. The photo here doesn't do justice to how intense red-orange the blooms really are.

Murray, it's watercolor pencils and ink.

It was one of Rod's flower photos and I just had to make the butterfly into a fairy. Every once in a while, I get possessed by the spirits of the fae and it just comes out. Hehe. :)

Here's a detail of it.

LeAnne...that *is* a beautiful piece. I'm really glad I got to see it, too. (I like the "pretty" stuff...the "other" stuff scares the bejeebers out of and gives me bad dreams...:( )
 ~ Excellant work! ~

We must have been thinking on the same wavelength! I've recently started a series of miniature paintings involving flowers and faeries and this is just completely what I had invisioned! I love her wings! You go chicka :D

Hehe. Thanks everyone.

The piece is actually 3 1/2" by 5", so it's not much bigger than what you see on your screen. I was sort of going for a "Where's Waldo?" effect so that someone doesn't necessarily notice the fairy right away.

The best compliment I can give you about this, is that I was ALMOST thinking about using your's as my tinyhead, but mine just fits me so well - its just so me :)
