Where do you buy paints & brushes online? Is there any brick and mortar stores that has them for cheap? I'd like to go to water mixable oils but Hobby Lobby is a little pricey for me. Thanks for any advice...............

I have heard many good things about Blicks quality and pricing....I should be getting my order from them in the next few days and will give an update on how well I like them, so far the prices were the cheapest I have found and they shipped them out 3 days after I placed my order.....so far I am happy with them.
Happy painting;

Inexpensive and usable brushes are sold at these brick and mortar stores: JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts, Michael's, and Utrecht. I have been told that Utrecht will honor coupons Michael's puts in the Sunday newspaper- for 40% and 50% off!
Online I usually order from Dick Blick as they have a wide selection and are really fast. I also order from Daniel Smith (Primatek watercolors). For those rare items that just cannot be found anywhere else, New York Central Art Supply.

I've been very satisfied with Art Supply Warehouse and Jerry's Artarama. As far as the Art and Craft stores such as Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc, following the coupons is necessary, I've found. This week Michael's has a 40% off all artist paints.

Thank you for the heads up on that one!

Sounds to me like we all better head to Michael's. Thanks for the heads up.
If you just have to buy on line Utrecht has an online store and they have been around a long time. We have an Utrecht store here in K.C., nice folks. Or you can " google " water soluable ( miscible ) oils and you will find others.

I live in Chicago so I just go to Blick - I like the selection and pricing. For the work that I do it's everything I need and more - great selection of W&N water mixable oils - as well as Holbein Duo Aqua Oils (more expensive but much great selection of pigments). I also think the brush selection is great and they are always running some sale - which induces some level cynicism but they do have legitimate sales a few times a year where everything is very cheap.
