Great work Henry, love the beach and the overall blue feel on this and the softness of the brush strokes. Check the water horizon, should be level. ( I get told this all the time in the marine forum )
The blue rocks are really well done! Distant sailboat: great touch. TJ

Henry. You are mean wanting to keep such beaches to yourself. I think I need to make a trip there in summer. My grandfather was a Scot so does that entitle me to visit the beaches? The painting is beautiful. I love the sweep of the bay with those touches of warm colour in the sand.

Beautiful work, Henry. I love the brushstrokes, particularly the foreground rocks. Beautiful touch of warm color in the beach. I promise to keep your secret if you let me come and visit once in a while. :D

I like this, but the green in the lower right seems off. It could be the photo.

This is beautiful! Such a fresh, relaxed feel to it. The brushstrokes are elegant, the colors are so clear. I can smell the fresh clean air!

nice. Harris was the only place I've ever seen sheep out on a beach. ;) (at low tide)

Timelady, did the Sheep have sunglasses on and lie on a multi coloured towel, if so I think I know it.....or her

Near Oban, hairy Highland cows walk into the sea to cool down in the summer, needless to say it does not happen very often to the the rather chilly weather here!

Nice painting on you website by the way!

Hi Henry, lovely painting. I like the restrained palette and delicate blending and brushwork. I think allowing the canvas texture to show works in most areas, particularly the sandy areas, but it distracts me in the foreground rocks and a few spots in the water. I don't see an issue with the level or shape of the water, it's not as romanticized as some of your other works, but it's loose and open and very attractive.

Happy holidays!
