Welcome to everyone! Soon you will be learning who we all are and posting threads just like the rest of us. WetCanvas! is very addictive; some of us never leave except to do a bit of creative art work. :D

If you have a question, or need special help, please do leave us a message here in this forum or contact any forum moderator. You can use the "New User" forum to test out uploading your images and to practice making your tinyhead (avatar) so that we can see who you are.

Post my images (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53060)

Remember make your image 72 ppi (the web images only read up to that ppi anyway), and no more than 500 wide and 600 high, which will give you less than 100 kb. Save your file as a jpg or gif files because bmp files are larger files and will be slow to load.

Make my own face appear in the forums as a tiny head or custom avatar? (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11857)

Remember you will need to make your avatar EXACTALLY 60X60 in size and in gif or jpg format. To get your image the correct size you will need an image editor.... see the links below for how to resize.

<b>Computer Tricks</b>

How do I make a copy of what is on my computer screen?
You need something to capture the screen with. Or, if you are running windows, you can do an ALT-PRINT SCREEN, then paste it into something like Photoshop, etc.

There are also tons of tools out there for doing this as well (snag-it comes to mind).

Considering the real-time nature of this bulletin board, it is sometimes impossible for us to review messages in a timely manner or confirm the validity of information posted. While the forums are moderated by a group of community volunteers, please remember that we do not actively monitor the contents of and are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this site, its moderators, or any entity associated with this site. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this site to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented (see more below), threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this site.

With regard to the posting of nude and/or erotic works of art:

Erotic art IS permitted in this forum, provided that is not blatent pornography. We will be the judge as to what is considered pornographic in nature vs. valid erotic art. Common sense must prevail in the end. Valid entries include nudes, studies of the human form, etc. Works displaying sexual activities ARE permitted, provided the art is tasteful, and does not illustrate the perspective of physical penetration. Posting pornographic photographs would obviously not qualify as erotic art.

We have created a special icon (http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/images/icons/icon15.gif) for new erotic art posts. Please use this icon in the future to denote material that should be viewed by mature audiences only, or individuals wishing to view this type of material (you can choose this icon at the time of posting).

We at WetCanvas! also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on this site.

.........I wanted to clairfy this part of the guidelines so that you would know that you can post your work and tell others it is for sale, you can direct others to your website and otherwise talk about your work. This part of the guideline targets what we all know as spam.

We are all artists here and as such most of us want to sell our work. It's just not appropriate to solicit membership to workshops, magazines, or other products made for artists. We do offer Advertising on WetCanvas! (http://www.wetcanvas.com/MediaKit/AdKit/index.html) and would be happy to assist you in promoting your product to artists.

....Just further clairfication about selling on WC!

Some artists do sell their supplies on the message boards but just thru placing a link in their signature line showing their web address.

To sell supplies to artists on WC! you would need to use the media kit unless your company was just an employee of one.

If so, you could sign up for Web Hosting with WC! and make a banner ad that would rotate with others on the top of WC! forums. That way you would support the WC! site, and make a banner ad so that artists could see you have supplies.

Several times our site has been flooded with folks coming to sell supplies to artists and to protect the boards against this, we have made an unofficial rule that we will leave the first post about supplies as a courtesy but remove all others.

Thanks for your understand. You can still talk about your work and your supplies, you just can't leave posts specifically targeting the sell of supplies without them being removed.

Again, this does not apply to our art work as the final product. It just applies to supplies, workshops, books and other things that artists might market to other artists.
