Just finished this 12" x 16" oil on canvas from a lovely photo in the RL by Dave Slaughter. It was fun to paint. May need to do some touch up work on the antlers later. C & C always welcome....thanks much for looking!

Beautiful work! I seen my first momma and baby of these this year when we were out. went into a feild way back in the bush and there they were...we watched them for over 20mins before they went into the bush... this painting brings me right back to that the incredible feeling of watching these animals.. you have captured him very well!!

Beautiful painting. Love the warm golden brown colours of the grasses against the greyish bg. Also love the light in this one.

Lovely job! I like the colour combinations, warm colour at the front does not take away the feeling of cold.

Gosh, I'm sorry I didn't get back to this sooner to thank everyone for their kind comments. Thank you!

Susan, I especially enjoyed seeing the progress on your acrylic painting of this scene. I like how you brought the elk closer, too. It's always fun to see how different artists interpret each scene.

Thanks again, everyone!

A lovely relaxing painting that gives you the feeling of nature at it's best on a cold day.
I like the way you have painted the snow with a slight impasto feel to the paint, this helps to create texture and depth to the painting. Well done!
