I am so very Happy Right now. Recently I entered a Art Compitition, a society event, as an Intermediate Artist with my Robin Eggs painting that took Third place. I was really happy about that. This event has all kinds of paintings, oils, watercolor, coloured pensils, etc. To enter as a Professional you have to make a living with selling your art work. Now I just recieved word that someone is going to buy my Blue Marbles painting that was entered in the same compitition but did not place. This is the first sale I ever had where I did not know the person previous to buying my pieces. Most of the time I know the person who is buying it or the person has commissioned the piece. So this sale is especailly important to me because this person, that I never knew, just walked though the Gallery the competition was held in and he wanted mine. I am so Happy. I just wanted to share this with my WC friends. james

That is AWESOME news James, congratulations!!!! I remember your robin egg painting - it was a beauty and you had to endure an attack by a bird to get your reference photo! How exciting to know that someone loved one of your paintings enough to buy it on the spot! Don't you wish you could see how it looks in their house? :)

Hi James,

Congratulations on the award! Recieving an award is way cool but when you make your first sale to a stranger....well, that is definitely a "cloud 9" feeling - enjoy!

Congratulations! That is fantastic. I remember how it felt the first time I got a letter from someone I didn't know who bought my book. That is the best feeling, to know it stood on its own and reached someone you'd never met.

Often that someone you never met becomes a friend later too.

With art it happened very young for me with a two dollar cartoon so it wasn't quite as big a deal, but it was at the time.
