This is one of very few acrylic paintings I have done for many months. It is also my first diptych!!
I hope I am now well and truly back into the painting scene...I have missed my Wet Canvas mates.
Stanley Chasm is in Central Australia, which, for obvious reasons, is often called "The Red Centre" It is a barren and fascinating place with some magnificent rocky outcrops...revealed after millions of years of erosion.
Materials:Matisse Acrylics on two gallery wrapped canvas panels.
Size: Approx. 12" x 6" (30cm x 15cm)

YLCIA and purplepansy: thank you both for commenting...the colours in this place are amazing and constantly changing ..depending on the amount and quality of the light.

The colors are rich indeed and I really like the idea of "two" panels. Very forbidding feel with a touch of awe.
You did a wonderful two pieces here and you are back with a bang..looking forward to more.

Why the diptych, instead of a single canvas?
