I just had coffee and a sandwich. Not bad either.

Good Morning Friends!
Elaine, hand over the broom. My floor needs it to!
No shopping for me--didn't mean too, but did some yesterday--for ME!
Today will be laundry, football, and maybe painting. It's Hubby's BD, but no big plans as of yet. It's 28 here, but sunny and beautiful. Will go for a walk when things warm up a bit.
Kathie, so glad you had a good time. I'm sure Mathew is growing by leaps and bounds. Such a fun age!
Good Morning Shirl.
Good Evening Kathrin!!

Hello to all those to come!

Thanks Ruthie!

recieved this cute poem from a friend, thought I'd share it!!

Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'
He told me to get off my butt,
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my good work.
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did, and oops - I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into it -
I was into it all night.

So nothing's changed except my mouse.
It's as shiny as the sun.
I guess my house will stay a mess.....
While I sit here on my bum.

Hi guys,

I just got the most bizarre pm ever....  I won't tell ya who or what it said just in case they come in here but I'm not sure what to do with it.
Sure it's harmless and language barrier seems to be a positive so don't want to dismiss that possiblity but oh my gosh I'm cracking up. Guess I've suddenly arrived at being here long enough huh....hahahahaha Think I'll show it to Carol see what she thinks I should do with it, or if I should just ignore it.

Anyway hi Shirl, I'm up and about maybe others are shopping or just letting the day go by quietly.

Hi Ruthie, here's the broom...LOL Laundry oh yeah got tons of that too so please don't hand that over to me..hahaha Have a good day cutie.

Hiya Kathrin, how are you doing girl? I've been missing you. Ought oh..night out huh, that'll do it..lol Hugs cutie.

Hey Raymo what's shakin'?

Kathie welcome home, glad you had a great time, I'll bet Piper will be oh so very happy to see you guys, Willie hates it when I leave him too. Have a good one.

Hi folks:

Just popping in before we head out to an art show. The artist is bringing the work that was on display at the Steiner Gallery in Vienna.

Did some Christmas shopping yesterday and got the little one's birthday party dress. Turned out that I had to take it back as mummy bought the same one (1500 miles away in a different store - how weird is that). Now to figure out where to pick up "a pink race car that goes on a track". Apparently Mattel et al have not figured out that little girls like to race cars too...

Welcome home Kathie. Hope everyone else has managed to recovery from turkey overload.

Afternoon all....super horible migraine here, so not feeling too chatty...and the manchild is feeling loud...sigh!
http://www.pic4ever.com/images/mornincoffee.gif And Bell...you would understand this....our "friend" in common is on a rampage and the pain is pretty bad. That does not help!

Hope everyone has a good day! Will try to sneak in later...when I hopefully feel better! Have to see if I can repair a painting that Bubba stuck his fingers into....it was modeling paste so it really messed it up...sigh!

Hi everyone, back from church, had lunch, painted a bit, now I am off to do a little bit of shopping :D Nothing exciting to be honest. I also have to start thinking about decorating for Christmas. I love this time of year. The houses are very pretty. In Oz, no one decorated their houses the way they are done here. Maybe it is different now but certainly when I was growing up it was a tinsel tree with mostly ball ornaments.

Sorry to hear about your migrane Susan, hope it gets better really quick.

Elaine, dying to read the PM if you choose to forward it.

Kathie, thanks for the poem. That is my house....:(

Ruthie, while you are at it, please do my floor too.

I'm so sorry Sue about the migrane. I was actually gonna call you later but I'll wait til during the week. Hope Bubba quiets down too..Healing Hugs.

Bell maybe Robert has a good idea there, I don't know where to tell you to look, sorry.

Hi Carol, Susan, Kathie, Kathrin, Dee

Elaine  asked, what am I doing today. I have already done it.

Four years ago during the Christmas season, I went to wall*mart. I saw Julie working in the Christmas section and I walked up to her and ask, "Do you have any mistletoe?" She said yeah, it's back there in that corner. "Could you please show me, I said, I just came from there and could not find it." Oh sure, and she lead the way. Here it is in this little package. I said "Oh, how did I ever miss it, but are you sure it is fresh, it won't work, if it's not fresh." I held it over her head and was disappointed as she scrambled away.

On the second and third year, she remembered my routine, but I left disappointed as you guess.

But this year, Yeah, they had fresh mistletoe. :smug:

Hi Oz,   oh you!

I need to start thinking about decorating. Mary's got me feeling guilty..haha
Lori brought me a tree yesterday, a Fraser Fir about 8ft high. She and Kurt were going somewhere and got lost and found this tree farm...LOL It's on my porch in water, I generally don't put my tree up early, it's a beauty I hope it lasts til I'm ready to bring it inside. Seems I'm being told to get with the program..LOL

Well just coming in to say good evening, not going to bed Raymo..haha, just needing to get away from this screen, that poem is so true Kathie..LOL

Larry just went and got ice cream, he bought me Raspberry, yum my favorite so I'll be indulging, but I'll share if ya want some. Will see you all tomorrow have a good rest of your Sunday.

Hugs,
Elaine

Dreadful day at work!...then a bit of farming with Susan, helped the grands with some of their "projects" and tried to cut up some more venison for jerky. I'm wore smooth out...but I'll work on the venison a bit more before I call it a day.

And today is my Dad's birthday....80 years young! I tried sending him birthday wishes thru FaceBook...but it appears he's busy playing online poker!

Morning Everyone,

Coffee and juice here, not cooking this morning so bagels will have to do. lol
Have to leave later this morning to get across the river for my appointment with the last specialist.

Mary I was just teasing you, you do so much and still have all that energy,
in reality I'm just jealous...LOL I'm sorry to hear about Princess. They are creatures of habit and it takes a little while for them to settle, the more she's with you tho I think she'll quickly adapt. If it's possible maybe take her with you to the shop, Lori did that with Bella for awhile too and it seemed to work. You have so much love it'll put everything in place.

Ruthie I think maybe that's my problem, digging it all out..haha Belated Happy Birthday to hubby!! Adding it is a great idea, it's wonderful!

Morning Kat, Kim, Bell, Carol, Pattie, Kathy, Kathie, Raymo, Howard, Robert,
Shirl, Shrl, Kathrin course we want to hear all about it, Sue hope you're feeling much better today, Dee - a grand Happy Birthday to your dad!!
Hi Oz, so meant to ask are ya carrying around that sprig of mistletoe..lol

Okay time for a shower and finding something to wear, it's gonna be a wet day today and chilly. Hopefully it won't take too long at the doctors and I can get home to keep going on my little Christmas canvas'. Hope everyone has a great day and some peace in whatever you do. Will talk with you later.

Hugs all round,
Elaine

G'Morning all!

Waiting to hear from the cable guy, called the office and said he will be here between 8-11, /sigh. but will have him call me with a more definate time. Anxious to get my baby! too quiet around here without him. guess I'll go paint!!

Mary, so sorry to hear Princess had a bad nite, hope she recovers from it quickly, maybe vet can give her something to ease the anxiety some and help prevent further seizures till she adjusts. I dont think it will take long by the sounds of it. geez you would have thought it it it was separation anxiety it would have happened in the first day or two you had her!!

Elaine, thanks for the juice and bagel! Yummy!
Hi Carol, hope the portraits coming along! now if you were hiding out in acrylics, wouldnt we have seen you??? duh!
Later all back to the easel!

11-30-2009, 10:14 AM
Oh Mary...sorry to hear about Princess' seizure. I know how heart wrenching it is. According to the vet that I first took GeeWop to, the last sense that goes "wonky" is their hearing. When she was having hers I talked softly to her while I held her for the duration of the seizures. Not sure if it it really got through to her, but it couldn't have hurt and it sure made me feel a little less helpless.

What meds does she take for the seizures? And has she been taking them as prescribed?

Kathrin, what is this about a foster dog?? Didn't you just take a dog to a rescue facility?

All this talk of decorating for Christmas! The only decorations that I'm even tempted to put up are some lights on my front porch....just because I do like those little lights (and I would most likely KEEP them up). But I'm afraid the "wild kitties" would have them totally wrecked in short order.

This coming weekend I'm going to the company Christmas party with my boss. I've found legitimate reasons the past two years why I couldn't make it....and guess I kinda HAVE to this year. :crying: I really don't have strong feelings one way or the other about the party itself....but it means I'll be away from GeeWop overnight! I'm not sure I can sleep without her cuddled up next to me. I'm such a baby. :o

You're just wrong, Ruthie... I think I would have liked you as a teacher! :)

*hugs* Mary, I know how scary that can be for you. Is there anything she really likes (well, besides y'all) that you could give her only when you leave? Often times something to keep her occupied will help with the separation anxiety some... Bon didn't have seizures... she just destroyed stuff. I found that a kong toy stuffed with different treats kept her calm. She's very much a food hound.

Enjoy the Christmas party, Dee. Where is GeeWop going while you're gone?

*snags a bagel from Elaine* Thanks! It'll go well with my oatmeal.

Howdy folks... slow day here as usual. I've got oatmeal for anyone that's interested, and there's always plenty of coffee. Help yourselfs to whatever pleases ya. :)

Haven't done any decorating myself... Might this coming weekend, who knows. Not quite in the mood for it yet, but that might change over the week. I think everyone the decorates should be putting up pictures of it to help the rest of us get in the spirit. :D

Morning folks:

Mary, sorry to hear the little one had a rough night. I hope the person you adopted her from was truthful about hos bad it is. As for the SA, I hope you can get her past it. I found this article useful: http://www.usask.ca/wcvm/herdmed/applied-ethology/behaviourproblems/anxiety.html

Hubby is moping around as his football team made a huge error last night and it cost them the Grey Cup. In the last 10 seconds of the game, the ball was going to be kicked just outside the punter's range... ball was punted, missed and that should have been the end of the game.. but no... Saskatchewan had a penalty - 13 men on the field... 10 yard penalty which put the punter inside his achievable range.. ball is punted.. 3 points to win the game. Hubby almost cried... it was funny watching the assist coach bang his head on the desk (wanna bet that ends up on YouTube with a funny song attached to it?)

We went to a show yesterday, the art was amazing, the artists were fantastic and I got to stand a foot away from three group of seven works and thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

For anyone in the eastern Ontario region, Rheni Tauchid is doing a workshop/demo on Dec 5 in Kingston on some acrylic mediums. https://www.wallacks.com/rehni.php

Kathie, my in laws had problems with aardvarks eating their telephone and cable lines... and to think us canucks think raccoons are bad...

I'm off to paint.. laters

Christmas here will have to wait until after the show at the end of this week....Thurs - Sun. Did manage to rescue the painting that Bubba stuck his finger in...little twerp! Bob said I should just call it "from Bubba with love"...and leave it... Somehow I doubt it would sell that way. Stil have a bit more to do...but it is close. Posting it in WOYE.

Kathrin...hope to see you later!!

************
Long interruption...Phone call and Tammy's arrival
****************
Ruthie...I love it!! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/176.gif Kids need laughter too!!

Kathie...they do like to nibble! The nibblers are usually reponsible for our phones being out too. 'They' are usually rats out here in the boonies. I hate when they bring their kills...but the dogs got a lot of them this spring and summer.

Bell....aardvarks?? Where do your in-laws live?

We have other things that have been known to chew...squirrels, possums, coons, not sure if armadillos chew wires or not...dogs and cats...but no aardvarks that I know of... I do NOT go under the skirting....did once...not going again!! I am clautrophoic....so uuh uh!! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-scared007.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org)

Was up pretty early for us...and had to run into town before Bubba got breakfast...he was so good that he got 3 packs of valve stem caps and a "Ho Ho" coke (he loves the Christmas cans with Santa on them!) Did the gas, bank, Tax office, CarQuest, and back to the station to get a coke and home again by 10. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-gen165.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
Tammy was supposed to be here between 9 and 10...still have not heard from her or seen her.....ammending...she is here now.

Well...gonna try to get one more quick one done...then I need to start putting sealer on. I can always take more....but will have to be sure they understand they are not sealed or varnished.

Later!!

Evening all
Kathie, glad Piper is back home with you and hurray for the fixed cable
Bell, that show sounds like it was well worth going to
Kat, great idea about the photos of everyone's deco's. I got nothing up either, crikey its way too early
Ruthie, lucky kids to have you as teacher
Carol, you got them looking everywhere for that mystery forum now
Elaine, hope the doctors appointment was fast. Happy painting :)
Mary, poor you and of course poor Princess ((hugs))
Susan, oh my ....I am tired just reading about all the stuff you are doing ((hugs))
Dee, I am sure the party will be fun.
And yes, you are right, I took the Terrier girl what was left on the side of the road to a Rescue. And guess what, the foster dog is for the same rescue :wink2:
My friend, the other German girl, rang me about him on Friday. The dog is sitting in the City Pound and got the death sentence hanging over his head
Pounds can by law put down any dog after 5 days. Surrenders can be put down straight away. This particular pound does keep them way longer tho.
The dog what is meant to come here is in the pound now with a couple weeks, but his time is up now and he heeds out or gets put to sleep.
My friend fosters dogs for Rescue and was told by the Pound about him when she picked up another one for them.
Anyway, the rescue is full now and all fosterers are too, so nowhere for this boy to go. So she rang me to see if I could take him for a couple of days until they got space for him. Surprising enough, himself agreed.
Anyway, she rang today to say that there might be someone re homing him from the Pound after all. If they do, he will be gone by tomorrow dinnertime. If not, he will be here by tomorrow night. We shall see.

Was a long day today. Its absolutely freezing cold, lots of accident on the roads because of ice.
Came home with a killer headache, but its easing now. Might paint some....

whoops, you are absolutely right Susan, it's not an aardvark it's armadillos. (what do you expect from a canuck - it was an animal that started with an A)
The in-laws live in FLA for the winter.

The poor dog, hope he gets his home Kathrin.

Hope they do find a home, I hate to hear about the ones going to be put down., Vinnie was a rescue dog, no one wanted him because of a broken leg healed wrong and froze in place he hopped on 3 legs till we had it fixed that was 13 yrs ago! /sigh think of him often. So you sound like you've all been busy. I just got back from the doctors, it's now 4:37pm and I left at 11:30 this morning...LOL I'm good to go on the one front and apparently he's not concerned about the arteries in my neck, saving that for next appointment on March 1st. Blood pressure last two times was too high, don't know why and can't seem to get it back down to where it was. All the new try me meds didn't work and the reactions weren't so welcomed either. :( I'm sorry to hear that, Carol.. How does that happen? Poor baby. And you're welcome to hide in acrylics anytime you want. :)

Yay for the news, Elaine. Enjoy your snuggling with Willie!

So sweet of you, Kathrin! I don't know if we'll ever be able to foster... both Jon and I get attached real quick to animals. I keep waiting for him to come home with the cat he's been talking about that hangs outside one of his regular customers here in town.... Just what I need... 4 of each.

Good think I'm about ready to go to bed, Susan... damn, I'm exhausted from reading that, too!

Glad to hear Piper's home and happy for it! He is a cutie, that's for sure.

So, I almost ruined my favorite 'crappy' brush... I'd been painting with it, went to another brush for what was only supposed to be a second, then got distracted by the dogs... or the hubby, not sure which. I went to paint today... and it was full of paint. :( Got it mixed into the good cleaning stuff and it's back to it's good ol' crappy self! :D I've decided I'm ordering another one or two of them to have around... Yeah, it's been lots and lots of use and abuse on that brush that has made it as good as it is, but I'm sure I cen replicate that, huh?

Hi there chatty bunch!!! I love y'all! Some folks have to come home to nagging spouses...I come home to a warm, loving puppy and the absolutely wonderful (& oh so entertaining) friends who live in the black box under my desk! :D

Busy day at work...and I got the news that if we don't hire someone (and get their drug-screening back pronto & get them trained) I won't be able to attend the company Christmas party! *does happy dance while keeping fingers crossed* Got the drug test results back on the bosses first pick....failed! Sent someone else this afternoon. Don't think they showed up at the clinic who handles our drug-screening. Some folks are such morons......they would be better off coming up with some lame excuse...or just saying..."I won't pass". Why waste our time & money?

Carol I'm sorry bout poor Maddie. :(

Hi Kat LOL you know Willie doesn't snuggle he just sits there and turns his head from side to side as I chatter at him, must think, if he was capable of that, this woman is nuts let's just amuse her....LOL Hope you have a good day cutie, or at least get to play with the pencils..Hugs

Morning Sue, Kim, Kathie, Kathy, Shirl, Howard, Raymo, Robert, Dee I chuckled cause I know you didn't want to go, fingers crossed, Patti, EP, Mary,
Kathrin, Ruthie, Oz , hope I didn't forget anyone.

Well doing laundry at the moment, got the references posted for the DS and later will go meet Art and talk art...lol Sun's shining, glad the rain stopped but it's a bit chilly out. Was going to paint for a bit but think instead I'll drag out some decorations and see if I can't get Larry interested in climbing up and down the ladder..haha Actually I think I'm going to see if Lori will give me her number so I can go to the local floral wholesalers and get some new stuff and some greens. Right around the corner from me. Hope you all have a good start on your day and it continues that way. Will see you all later.

Morning folks!

Woke up to a chilly house... 18C and the outside temp was -2C with..... white stuff all over the ground. (sings, it's beginning to look like Christmas...)

I slept like crap last night, I'm a little worried about a lump the doc found inside my mouth, he's sending me off to the oral surgeon today for them to have a look at it and take a biopsy. I head off for a 10 AM appt.

Susan, how are you feeling? Did you get my PM?

Elaine, had a look at your DS for this month... what wonderful references.

I got an email yesterday from the region's art council and they are interested in placing one of my pieces in the Mayor's office in Jan. I'd like to do something really special for that but as usual, time is going to be a factor.

My nice neighbours are leaving to head over the UK this week. I am going to miss them, it's so sad to see the moving truck/sea container taking away all their belongings. I do wish them the very best though, I think they are terribly brave to move their family to a new country 3 weeks before Christmas.

Mary, how is Princess?

I'm off to that appt... later folks...

I know that feeling, Kathie... I feel the same way when I groom Remi and then it gets cold. But he feels better for it.

Elaine, I'm not surprised. Murph does the same thing with me! She's a bit more of a snuggle bug, though. I love that cat. And no, not taking the pencils with me... taking the laptop so I can wipe it and reload Windows on it. Being real sluggish lately and nothing else has helped.

Keep us updated on your appointment, Bell. :( :grouphug: And sorry to hear you're losing your good neighbors. It's always a sad thing.

Dee, I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya! Doesn't sound good, though (or is that it DOES sound good? heheheh)

It is COLD here today... and I'm not pleased about it. Below freezing... and I look at the weather at my Mom's (she's about an hour south of Buffalo, NY), and it's WARMER there than it is here. That's not right. Not at all.

Alright, I've gotta go get ready for work. Bah... cold days like this should give a person the excuse to stay home with hot chocolate...

Cold here too! I've been mostly just using the small gas space heater in the bathroom set on low. But this morning I put up it on high & turned on the one in the living room as well. Hi,

It's about 38 degrees here, real feel and they're saying some more showers today later. So long as it doesn't go down to freezing..haha

Kat I'm really surprised, wow. Here we go with the strange wide weird weather again I think. Well I stayed here and I'm a wimp and always have goose bumps...LOL

Dee I'm not particularly fond of cold weather either, I can just never dress warm enough it seems. But I do remember thinking it was such fun to play in the snow...LOL now I just look at it..haha

I went out to clean up the mats and houses for the critters just a bit ago and found one of the smaller, younger cat dead by the porch. I'd been trying to get her for weeks, she just wouldn't let me, she had a limp and I wanted to bring her inside. Something got her, some of my neighbors let their dogs out to roam all night and she looked like she'd been mauled some, poor little girl.
But it could have been anything, no blood tho so just don't know. Always makes me sad :(

Bell I'll be thinking about you as you go to the oral surgeon, saying a little prayer it's nothing major.

Time to fold the laundry think I hate that more then being cold...LOL

Hugs,
Elaine

Make that three... if it is below 70 degrees it is cold.:D I might even move that up to 75 degrees.

I have been crocheting. Get bored while watching TV in the evenings if my hands aren't busy, so I dug out some thread and my crochet hooks. Now I have a stack of little things that I don't know what I'm going to do with them, lol. When it is real cold I work on a quilt but have not been interested in that for awhile. I also have a piece of cross-stitch I have been working on but I think I need new glasses. It would be nice if I could have my studio around my lounge chair, but not practical.

Hope everything goes well with your Dr. appointment Bell.

See, 75-85 all year round would be my ideal temperature... I'd still use A/C in the house, though.. I like it cold at night when I'm trying to sleep.

I'd be willing to bet I am the least likely to to be active of all of us. Hope things with the dog go well.

Bell....I know nothing about either aardvarks or armadillos...so I went to Wikipedia and learned a little...both are fairly interesting critters. While looking I came across this page....I thought about just showing a few, but I thought you might be amused by these Unusual animals (http://mocii.com/2007/12/24/weirdest-animals-and-creatures-in-the.html)
....I don't expect anyone to necessarily read about each, but the pics are amazing...to me anyway...seems as tho' they explain mythology, fairy tales, and Ray http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-signs047.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php).

ROFLOL Sue you are the best, so funny. And I got your little note in DS I answered ya, now go take a peek I think I could be not so crazy....LOL or I could be just blind.

Kat unfortunately it's something I've had to get use to I can only do so much if they won't let me get near them, she was a cutie but very wild. :( Guess you're gonna have to pucker up...  :D

I had a wonderful time with Art today. He is a lovely man. He generally is in the oils thread and he brought several of his paintings, very good and he actually gave me one which I thought was so very nice of him. He also found another member who doesn't live terribly far from either of us, could be fun to meet together. He complimented us, the Acrylics group, said we all seemed like such wonderful and friendly people, think I even talked him to giving acrylics a go...LOL It was very nice indeed.

Well stuck a chicken in the oven and hubby is wondering where the rest of it is so I guess I should go and put it all together and get it on the table..see you little later.

Hey all! had a busy day today, just got home a bit ago, should be thinking abotu something for dinner, but,, Noooooooooooo
here I sit! LOL
Princess is doing well! yippee! I was so afraid ,, we got a bum deal..
she is such a cupcake though,
took her to work with me today, we all went for a walk, in the snow! aaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkkkk
she did great! didn't know such a little thing could store up so much pee! geez Louise! had to pee on everything that smelled like something else,,
took a tad bit longer to get our two miles in due to that,, but it was great! it was windy and damn cold this AM too,
she stayed with me at work today and did pretty well, I think she will adjust quite well, I had to leave for a house call, so I put her in her little crate, left a light on, and the radio on, and slipped out the back, was gone abotu an hour and she was fine no hysteria at all when I got back,, I think she now realizes we will be back..
yesterday, after work, my sister and I took her to Warren for her Vet appointment with her former owners. we pulled into the parking lot before they did, I had her out to piddle before going in, and they showed up, she wagged her tail when she saw them, I felt a pang of sadness at that, but realized, of course she would be happy to see them, they took her into the Vet and we waited out side. when they came out, I got out of the car and walked over to them, the gal gave me a copy ov all of her records and we chatted, my sister ( she is a groomer) came over to chat also, it got cold and I only had on a long sleeve t shirt and down vest, so we all went out seperate ways,,
after getting Princess in her crate in the back of the car, I got in front and my sis says to me, "I just want you to know, I watched her ,, and when she saw them, she wagged her tail a bit, but when they came out of the office and she saw you, her tail was wagging to beat the band,, she is in love with you girl,, she is very happy to have found you".. made me feel really good.. sighs,,
Elaine, so sorry about the little kitty,, that is so sad. :(
Kathie, glad you got the Piper back,, :)
tired tonight, I slept with one eye open last night waiting for any more seizures, I think tonight will be a great night to sleep,, soundly!
Oz.. love mistletoe,, enjoy your hunt!
hey Ray!!! :)

Elaine, so sorry to hear about the little kitty. so sad.

Dee, Kat, Patti, add me to your List of YankeeWimps.. agree.. too cold here when its in the 60's ya know its a 30degree drop for us!! thats freezing to us! if you all up there had a 30 degree drop you would be freezing for real!!

Susan, ohhh my goodness what odd looking critters!! TOO FUNNY!

Mary, so glad all went well with Princess today!! YEAH, see, she does love you!!! thanks I'm happy to have my Piper back too.. ohhh he was sooooo excited when I got home today too.. Vinnie and Piper learned quickly, that when I said, I'll be back, they knew I was going out and of course Pipers tail went down and stopped wagging and went quietly in to the crate.. but he knew that I was coming back. they are used to me saying it! funny how smart they realy are!

Hi folks:

The dentist managed to make my wallet 120.00 lighter and basically handed me off to the oral surgeon. From the looks of the lump, it's not a scary one just annoying as I keep catching it when I eat. So relieved at that - not relieved that it still has to come off...so surgery is booked for the end of January. Whew! But at the same time.. ick.. more money ...estimates are between 200-350.00 (all because I bit my cheek and damaged a saliva duct - sheesh)

I had some pretty amazing things happen today. I had it confirmed that my some of my work will be hung in both the Mayor's office and our MPP's office (Member of Provincial Parliament - kind of like a state senator) in the new year. There will be a launch reception with wine and goodies the night before the opening. I'm tickled pink over this.

I also have had the offer by someone I respect very much in the art world to be my agent (not just representing my work but also me). I am thrilled over this development.

Still no news of whether the grand kids can come for Christmas - but I have every toe and finger crossed that they can make it.

Mary, glad to hear Princess is feeling much better. Whew!
dee, any news on escaping the silly season party?
Carol, How is Maddie doing?

We had some issues with our furnace today... of course while we had, for almost an entire month of, unseasonably warm weather... it was fine.. but the one night where it got teeth chattering chilly... it had to crap out... I was forced to make Banana bread just to have the oven on to warm the place up until the furnace guy got here. (hubby is denying all knowledge that he might have had something to do with it....I think he had a hand in it just knowing I would bake to turn the oven on...hmmmmm)

I've given up on the child's portrait... I need to put it aside for a while and rethink the whole soft skin thing. On the reference pics, the child is quite flushed from running around, he has rosie red cheeks and a tan. His face is also in partial shade/shadow. It's starting to make me crazy so it's best if I leave it alone for a few days... maybe start a piece I've been trying to start.

Belle! congratulations on your art stuff, all of it! how very cool and what an honor!
sorry you will have to have oral surgery,, but glad that is all it is. whew!

Mark and Princess have their morning routine pretty down pat now, he gets her up and puts her out to pee, then he feeds her and then she goes out to poop,, she cant poop on the first trip out, must be too hungry,, LOL,, well today he had to go to work really early, so he said, I will put her out to pee, then put her in bed with you. he put her out, she came back in, he unhooked her, by the time he stood up, she had run around the hallway to the door she now knows she can jump on and get to open up, she was already in the dark bedroom by the time he got to the hallway,, man, she is a fast one! he put her up in bed with me and she cuddled right in, then she heard him making coffee in the kitchen, she kept popping her head up to hear what he was up to. if food was involved, I am sure she would have wanted up to go beg.. LOL
she sure makes me giggle!
yesterday on our walk, her sweater got so muddy, I rinsed it in the sink at work, it still was not dry this morning, so I am running it through a short load in the washer and hope to have it dry by the time we leave for work.. "kids"
Today may be a short day for us. so am going to try like heck to come home and get my stuff sealed and work on any more I can for the show on Saturday.. this should be interesting.. LOL
Mark hopes to get his sausage made tonight after work and start to get it smoking.
Later Gators! must run!

Mistletoe man here with your early morning update.

Volunteers, have been slowly coming in... so far we have Kat, Susan, and Mary.

Just a reminder that we do have a practice room, just to get into the spirit of the season, and there is a limit of three people in the room at one time. Not sure how that works?

It's all for a good cause, and the practice sessions are free of course. All reasonable offers will be carefully considered, and returns are cheerfully refunded.

Morning all...err afternoon now I guess

So I discovered something dumb today, Adobe Acrobat will not allow you to save a file in an earlier version, like you can with Word, Excel, etc. :(:(:( I now have to track someone down with an earlier version than 9. Most at work have upgraded to 9.0 or higher.

I'm baaaaack....I got a major virus yesterday, actually lots of em. Had to take my baby in to have them removed. Wasnt too bad, 70 bucks. Man they got me good and they overwhelmed my anti-virus programs. Sometimes I get soooo disappointed with people..... Why cant they just leave people alone.

Hope everyone had a nice day..... It's nice to be back on-line again.

Today was a strange day....spent it feeling like I forgot to do something...sigh! I got up late with a major headache (rain again)...but I got everything ready...or sort of ready. Waited for Tammy to get here....and for some reason, decided to check my email before loading the car with my show stuff. Good thing I did...even tho' the application, and all had Wednesday for set up....and there were email that implied set up was one day before the Wine Reception.

Today's email says don't forget....set up is on THURSDAY!! So was up for no reason...busted my butt to get things ready....and then nothing! Even our Blog says it opens Thurs...not that we set up then....wonder how many people will show up tomorrow to shop? So I painted today....and have one more that I can take tomorrow. Hopefully I can make myself go to bed early...and then feel better tomorrow than I did today! Guess I should be glad that I did not end up going and using up/wasting alot of gas as well as

Ruthie...don't know when I found the pic...I think for my daughters Bday card a number of years ago. Kind of appropriate that I would find a cow with my name....

Bell....congrats on the art stuff....glad the oral thing was not much, but sorry you have to spend the money!

Elaine....hope your got lots done today!! Tried to answer you about the wheel last night...but I kept falling asleep. Looked again....and I guess maybe the inside is wood, but the tyre and spokes are metal.

Hi Shirl....I came late...but I am here!

Oz....good idea! Just cause I am fanning myself!! Three at a time....a menage a mistletoe?

Carol....sorry....I have 10 something. Might have an old copy of Word, if hubby did not throw it out...want me to look?

Welcome home Julia!!

Welcome back to normal...or whatever you call it, Ray!! :D

Adobe Acrobat will not allow you to save a file in an earlier version, like you can with Word, Excel, etc. :(:(:( I now have to track someone down with an earlier version than 9. Most at work have upgraded to 9.0 or higher.

Is it Acrobat (less than 9) that you are in search of?

I have a very weird friend that has not turned her 'puter on probably in months. She might very well have an older version of Acrobat.

Actually its not so much that she's "weird"....she's a widow & her husband used the 'puter more than she did....sitting there is "uncomfortable" for her. :crying: We've talked about her moving the 'puter desk to another part of the house to "make it hers". But I'm pretty sure she hasn't done it yet.

Not sure HOW to help you Carol....but I will if I can.

I am not even gonna TRY to respond to everyone!!!! Y'all have been extremely chatty!!!

But I do need to address the mistletoe!!!!
menage a mistletoe

Count me in!!!!

And the company Christmas party....well, it seems I'm being taunted. At this point I just don't know! (But it is looking like I'll have to stay here & work! :D )

We've been shorthanded for a couple of weeks. Sent one applicant for a drug screening....she failed. Handed ANOTHER applicant the paperwork & sent her to the clinic that does our screening...she was a "NO SHOW" (hmmmmm). Called a 3rd, she said she didn't have transportation to the clinic (in the next county)...arranged & paid for transportation...she then "fessed up"...she'd smoked a joint.

Then we sent another applicant (suggested by a co-worker, Michael). He went & took the drug test.

The applicant's name sounded "familiar" to me.

Come to find out, he was the "punk" I caught shoplifting the first part of October! When I caught him he was not yet 18 (turned 18 on 10/31)...so his "records" are sealed. And Michael doesn't really know him well...just as friend of a friend.

Even though Michael recommended him...and drove him to the clinic...this kid did not find it necessary to (at any point) mention that there might be an "issue" with him getting hired. The kid goes by his middle name...so it wasn't until I happened to look at his app... saw his first name that it really rang a bell. (And I wasn't there when he came in for the interview, etc).

The boss is going to be soooooooo IRATE in the morning when Michael tells her what we've found out.

Why are some people so dumb? Did the kid think we just wouldn't remember him??? Or that we wouldn't care? I caught him shoplifting the first weekend in October...this is the first week in December. Are we supposed to think he has reformed? Can we trust him?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Okay...I'm done ranting. :o

Dee, people are stupid.. really really stupid. and he probably will be pissed if he does not get hired,, suh,,

Well, last night, as our new routine, Princess and I went to bed. Mark came to bed a bit later and he usually puts her in her crate for the night. but he says, oh,, she will be okay, let's give it a try tonight.. so, she slept with us all night last night.. well let me rephrase that,, she slept with ME all night.. I of course didn't get much sleep because I was fighting for room on the bed all night! and holy moly,, she is one hell of a hot potato! she had me sweating all night too! Munchkin always slept under the covers against one of us, with her head facing the bottom of the bed, this little **** sleeps against ya,(ME) with her head on the pillow, or her face in your face.. this is going to take some getting used to! I am afraid of her jumping off the bed, as we have a water bed and it is quite high.. don't want her to get hurt.

Morning folks:

Got some sad news last night that one of the rescue dogs that we had originally wanted to adopt 6 years ago, has died. He was such a lovely boy and our guys and him got along famously. We'd had just been looking at pics of the three of them running around. He was the poster boy for the rescue.

Susan, sorry to hear your timings got mucked up. Good thing you checked before you left.

Mary, dog stairs? We had a set made for her ladyship for getting in the vehicles. Maybe your hubby can make a set up for Princess... then she can get off the bed when she needs.

Carol, I only have version 9 - I upgraded last week - never use Acrobat.

Ray, I use Kapersky anti-virus and have never had a problem - it updates daily, and catches about 99% of the crap out there - Spybot/Super anti spyware catches the other 1%.

Dee, good luck with the hirings.

I'm off to paint...

Good morning Carol, Mary, Bell and all to come, especially Elaine.

... I am afraid of her jumping off the bed, as we have a water bed and it is quite high.. don't want her to get hurt.

Mary, I have a high bed also, and I put a hope(less) chest at the end of the bed with a bath rug on the top of it for traction, so that Pearl could jump up and down in two steps. There are some inexpensive steps on the internet that can be found also.

Wowzers! We had some awsome thunder last night... started low and kept building and building and building and rumbled on forever. I've never heard them last so long before.

I just returned from the dermatologist... all clear. Jon forced me to go because he has so much trouble but the doc said I had good skin. I asked him if that meant I was aging nicely and he just repeated what he said and laughed.:D So my worry-wort of a husband can relax until the next thing pops up for him to worry about. No fear, he will find something I'm sure.

Gee Ray, you been visiting places you should not visit? Glad you took care of your virus, we would have missed you.

Hi Carol, I got that same picture in three different emails today.

Hey Guys,

Hi Shirl..how's by you kiddo, still enjoying the warm temps, ya could send some to me if ya want..haha

Hi Sue, could be I guess haha. Sorry bout the mix up geeze wouldn't be so good if people came a day early and nothing there would it. I do wish for you a very prosperous showing and no rain, hope your headache goes away, Hugs!

Glad ya found a older version, tell him he can't upgrade..haha Didn't get that one in my email, good grief..haha Have a good day.

Morning Mary, Willie sleeps like that with me all the time, I wake up spitting pug hair....LOL he gets so close and on the pillow as well. One time when I was babysitting my daughters pup, Bella they were both running me off the bed and I decided to shift everyone, so I moved them around. Went to fluff the blankets and ooops flipped Bella right off the bed, now I know it's not really funny but I did laugh and still do when I think of it, this little dog went flyin' and I looked over the bed and she was sitting there like "what the Hell" She was fine tho and Willie's fallen off the bed too but he's more bulky, Bella is a toothpick with hair. Good luck..haha

Morning Kat,Kim, Bell, Kathie, Kathy, Howard,Ruthie, Raymo, Robert, Patti I'm gonna stand in line for some bread if that's okay, oh yum, Shrl, EP, Dee stupid is as stupid does ya know, haha, Kathrin, Oz mistletoe man:heart: ..haha all the peekers and oops any I forgot.

I keep a footstool next to the bed for GeeWop...even though she really doesn't need it. And, yeah, I've "flipped" her off the bed when I was straightening out the covers! What a shock...to both of us!

Well, the boss was pretty hot at the young idiot...he came into the store this morning and asked..."does this mean I don't have a job?" And she's sent yet another applicant for a drug screening. The clinic sure is making money hand over fist in this deal!

Gonna go try to catch up on some posts here.....see ya later.

We're having a cold spell here, might not be worth sending to you, or might compound yours. Current temp 58, hi 62 lo 45 tomorrow 48/41. I'll see what I can send you when and if it comes up 72-75 on Sunday and Monday.

...Willie sleeps like that with me all the time...

Pearl used to sleep under the covers the first couple of years. Now she sleeps on top, touching only butt to butt. I like feeling her there, but without the heat. She went through a period recently where she wouldn't sleep on the bed, and I found it very lonely.

I do have a toy box that we used to use for when Munchkin was getting up and down by herself, I could get that back out. Thing is, it is not like she can't jump off, she did that first time I put her up on it,, I put her up on one side and she trotted right over to the other side and off she went!
sigh.. "lookie me! I'm flyin'! "
Kids,,
with her long back, I just don't want her to injure herself..
Going to try to get my little plaques all ready to go tonight and packed up, so I get get em in the car tomorrow morning, then pack up the stuff I have at the shop, before I leave for the day there, then go to the motel to pick up the rest of the stuff.. she put my Christmas balls and plaques in her showcase to try to sell for me.. then around 3 I can get into the church to drop stuff off and set up.. whoot!

Amazing isn't it?? I thought cats knew better, mine do  won't go anywhere near hubby unless I am around.

Toby was very cute this morning. He really is my cat and where I go in the house, he follows fairly rapidly behind. Craig got up earlier than I did and was feeding the cats treats. Both cats beg for treats and we have trained them to sit up on their back legs to get them. Any way he said that Toby heard the alarm clock go off in the bedroom and he raced upstairs to be there when I woke up. Food is not a primary motivation for Toby. I like that in a cat.

Hugs to Ruthie, sorry that the linoleum lizards were bonkers today - Maybe they all ate the chocolate from their advent calendars. Three days of chocolates will do that...lol More hugs I know.. hugs...

Elaine, hope the back isn't too bad for ya.. heat and rest work for me.

Susan and Mary, tugged on the wishing fairy's skirt for ya to remind her to pass along some luck for your sales.

Got one painting started and got to the laying down colour stage. Got a ton of work to do on this - as in oodles of glazes- it's another northern light.

Hubby was supposed to be away for a couple of days but his trip got cancelled - yay! We went Christmas shopping and I managed to get the rest of the list for the granddarlings. I'm undecided on whether to get them snow shoes or cross country skis (they are for little ones.. more for playing in the snow than actually skiing). We have a tradition that one gift must be for playing outside (winter) with - last year we got them skates... bit stumped for this year.

I got busy thinking hubby was going to be away and put up our outside lights (just did the bushes not the eaves)... here I was thinking that he'll come home to a nicely decorated home - got the trees (we put up two.. one upstairs and one in the basement) out too and the rest of the hohoho stuff - and all he saw when he got home was a pile of boxes. Oh well... lol

Evening friends!!

Hope you are feeling better Elaine! Must be going braindead...what is wrong with Lori??

Ahhh....pics...well I guess I better remember to take my camera... I had too much yesterday, and was only there for about 5 minutes today. Hoping for good things...they sold over $500.00 on the afternoon shift. I will try tomorrow!! Good luck to you!!

Little guy, huh, Howard!?!? Would take up alot of room...but what a beauty!

Carol...sorry about the students but happy about Maddie for you!!

Ruthie....that is why I would never (if I could get away with it)take the little ones at day camp...I wanted the oldest boys, or nest to oldest, preferably, or the oldest girls....if I had to have girls...would still rather deal with catty than clingy. 14-16 kids and all of them wanted to hold onto you...arg!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Good morning peeps!
Worked yesterday morning, then loaded up the car for the show, brought Princess home, had to bag up a batch of venison sausage for Mark and put another batch on,, man, love the smell of that smoker,, smoking it in hickory..
Then had to sneak out the back door so the dog wouldn't try to beat me to the door again.. sigh,, when I got to the car, there she was, standing on her short little hind legs looking forlornly at me.. made me feel guilty!
Got my table all set up, they have so many more vendors than last time, that we are all squeezed together like sardines.. I had my pegboard all set up but then there was no where to put it, so I had to tweak and re-tweak it all in order to get everything on the table, and just brought that on home.. I was planning on putting all my Christmas ball in baskets. but the gal next to me, got this awesome wire tree ornament stand, so we are both using it.. I took some pics, but didn't get them on the computer yet. I don't even think there is going to be room behind the tables to sit and stand comfortably! I jammed my chair into the corner and don't even think I am going to be able to get it out! hehe,,

Wishing good luck to you today Susan!
I hope we both sell out! wouldn't that be awesome!?

Got a note in the mail yesterday that I overdrew my checkbook, and a $10 charge, there is no way that happened.. not sure where that is coming from, now I cant do anything about it until Monday,, that really makes me mad!
Mark even got into my checkbook to see if I screwed anything up and I did not! ha! grrrrr

Well, kids, I guess I better get moving,, grab a shower and figure out what I am gonna wear to this shindig! something comfy, for sure!
I am not gonna bother taking anything to paint while there. I don't think I will have any room! geesh!

The art guy who lives up the road from me, set his stuff up last night too, he took one of his pictures home , because if he left it there, then there would be 13 things, and he didn't want that! The gal who was in charge of reserving tables said to me yesterday that there are 13 vendors there,, uh oh,, they set up a cute moose in the entry way, and when someone walks by it, he sings Merry Christmas, the one gal who it belongs to turned it off because she thought,, with all the vendors coming in, the batteries would go dead,, and the darn thing started to sing again,,

Hope this is not a bad thing today,,

well, okay, I am outa here! ta ta all! have a fabulous day today!

Still raining here and it is supposed to last all day. That makes two days of rain and dark. Not what Florida is known for.

Still waiting on deliveries.

Mary and Sue, best of all possibilities for sales today.

I found this guy to be very appealing. It is an enameled piece and the different segments allows it to move. It measures about 3" long. Just a charming little diversion.

Guess I need to get going on the studio and get it functional again.

Mary 13 is just a number. Remember that. You will have either a good day or a bad day in sales. If it is a bad day it is due to the economy rather than a number that people confer superstition to.

Good luck for the sales. Hope you sell all your paintings. You too Susan.

Off to ride Maddie again  and then it is decorate the house for Christmas.

Good Morning Everyone!

Good Luck to Mary and Susan! Hope you sell lots!

Okay, I need to stop whinning and remember that my job also gets me lots of hugs and "I Love Yous" during my days. Tons of giggles, I get to sing (out of tune!!) and play my piano and they think I'm cool. When you are out and about and they see you at the mall, they go running to mom and you can hear them down the isles "I saw Mrs. Puttre!!!!!" And the little one who didn't know any letters that knows 16 of them now and ones that are learning to read and soaking up the books. And of course I get to do ART at my job. They love my drawings (MOST of my class and teaching materials are all home made by me) and they love to create their own art. We often get the paints out and I do have an easel of watercolors available at all times.

I am seriously thinking of adding a page to my new website of my K Kids art. Whattcha think?? (Would I need to get permission from parents to show their art? I would Not post the kids themselves.)

So anyway, just so ya know, sorry I whine a bit---I really do love my job. Everyday brings a new challenge smiles and hugs!!

Cleaning day here!!!

Ruthie, never be sorry bout whining, it's actually venting and who better to then fellow vent-ers...LOL I know how much you like your kids and I'm sure they are just thrilled with you, once in awhile tho we all go there for one reason or another, think it's called the safety value so ya don't just plain implode..LOL

Good one Kathie....

Mary and Sue been thinking bout you guys and really rooting for you both to have a very successful day.

Carol yup you are right in what you say. Have fun riding Maddie, so glad he's better.

Howard that first one is magnificent, and if ya had two could you imagine what bookends they'd make..LOL I love the enameled fish. Good luck in the studio.

Well I got up with every good intention and it seems that I am easily distracted of late..LOL Going tp keep trying for that tunnel vision tho just stopped in to say hi. Oh and it's snowing like crazy here, branches already are laden with snow, ground close behind. First snow fall always so pretty.

HI to Raymo, Robert, Shirl, Shrl, Patti, Kim, Kat Kathy, Kathrin,EP, Dee, Bell, Oz:heart: all the peekers in too. Have a good one, see ya later.

Back from my show,, did okay,, didn't see any evidence of the "Number" all went quite well with everyone I think,,
I felt bad for my friend from up the road, they stuck him right across from a painting of the pope,, and he said his eyes followed him all day,, hehe,, he didn't sell any of his paintings, but he did sell some of his note cards, so that was good..
I did pretty good, made double what I made last year, ( didnt make much lst year, )
but it was good, sold one Christmas ball for $5 and she came back later and asked me to make her 15 more of them,, for a discount.. so,, I guess I should go and get started on em,, she said they made her smile,, :) cool,,
Hope Susan did well today!

My missing deliveries showed up today. Took getting a bit aggressive with the post office and chatting a bit with the carrier but it got done. Now to find the missing deposit.

Making some chicken stew in the slow cooker today. Experimental I say but it has to be done and it sounds good on this cold rainy evening.

Been working on a new piece and showing some of the mediums put to use. Should wind up the first part of it in a bit.

Been overcast all day and it is starting to chill down a bit. Hope it doesn't get to cold here. I am not fond of really cold weather.

Made more mission cakes last night. I can't seem to keep out of them. Such a strong memory and a comfort food it seems.

Mary, I am so glad for you. Maybe things are looking up... we can hope. I was out shopping for a bit today and one place I stopped and purchased just a little trinket... the man at the register said "Thank you for your beautiful smile, it made my day". Well, he might say that to everyone, but he made my day too!

Howard, the weather forcast for here is a low of 44 degrees. Time for an extra blanket. Your chicken stew sounds good, we had chili and biscuits. Jon likes biscuits, so I indulged him.:D By the way I really like your little fish thingy.

Ruthie I don't think you are whiny at all, just letting off a little steam. I been in a funk the last couple days, don't feel like doing anything and know I need to get busy or Christmas will pass me by. I think I was like this last year too, must be the season, as it is starting to be a yearly thing. Not good!

Yah, we have snow. Uggh. Had a blackout too so my Christmas tree got decorated by hurricane lantern  I got the tree assembled with the lights just in time. Hubby helped apply the ornaments as he could not do any thing with his computer. I will finish the tree tomorrow with strings of beads and bows. We had to go out to dinner what a shame

Yay Mary...glad you doubled your sales!

Ruthie I forgot to add that I think it's a great idea to show the kid's work, I'm sure the parents would give permission and maybe just first names just cause ya know..the kids would be sooooo excited I think.

Kathie I don't know where you get the energy but you gotta stop I'm living your life just listening and I'm not getting nothin' done..

Hey Patti, bet ya have one of those contagious smiles, only thing that's good to catch..haha I've been in a bit of a funk, but it could just be cause ya know all the things you have to do and all the things ya want to do so ya do nothing.
I'm just hoping for company in that justification, Hugs.

Hi Carol I was waiting for ours to go out but so far we're good. Yeah that's a real shame having to go "out" for dinner...:wink2: My tree is sitting in the stand on the porch in water, uh since last weekend..haha Larry said today where do you want it and I said it's good where it is for the moment..haha
I'm so motivated....not!
Glad ya got your decorating started.

Okay heading off to my very cozy and overly downed bed. :music: Oh the weather outside is frightful but the "down" is so delightful.....let it snow let it snow let it snow.:music: :D

Sue I hope the day went well for you!

See you tomorrow,
Hugs all round
