View Full Version : Fabrics that Need No Preparation?

Some fabrics, in some weaves, may have just the right level of absorbency (for a given technique or approach), along with other qualities making them suitable for painting on just as they come, with no need for additional preparation. Some synthetic fabrics also contain no sizing or other added products. Unlike cottons, they need no prewashing, and there is no danger of SID. They also remain more dimensionally stable when wetted or moistened, and have other advantages.

Has anyone tried any such fabrics (other than pre-primed canvases)?
