Thanks for commenting. I could not free myself on Sunday to get started on a second piece. I will have to play the catch-up forum tune later.

I called this piece 29-11-09 (I would not dare call it 9-11-29)
And I kept on thinking of you while doing it.... Hoping you would not cry....

Watercolour 9x12

With this little sonnet to warm your soul..

A postcard to Bonnie

For fifty-nine minutes
We stumbled and rolled
Through a tormenting
Sea of prairies green.

From the East we had risen;
At mid hour we had halted
Overwhelmed by the heat
Dusty and broken by the tide.

When the sun slipped behind the dark blue Rockies,
The November trees burned to crimson

In the last minute of the long march
Finally, the blue and red standard sang to glory.

Alain ........Congrats from me too on the Montreal Win......I too watched it with baited breath. Till the "I don't believe that just happened" End!!! What a game that was. I scared my cat yelling many times
Montreal was the top team all year, and suffered from Grey cup last year so there you go!!!

Your painting of Mt Cheam is outstanding, lovely piece.
The title and the poem, very artistic too, very funny    :D

Both pieces are really lovely Alain - nice use of the conte in the first and lovely, bold w/c of the mountain and cherry trees (think they're cherries anyway!)

This portrait says to me that this is a determined child with a strong will.
Conte is such a pleasing medium for portraits.
