Great painting Steven. Lots of finely worked details on the house. Good depth, light, and perspective on this one.

Nice crisp work Steven. Like that soft misty sky and foliage in the background. Well done.

Very nice! I like that you have kept it soft yet the colors are vibrant. I live in Greensboro, so I've been there several times. Job well done!

Tony: Thank you. My client wanted detail. Sometimes it's fun to do and sometimes just pure "work"!

Tim and George: Thanks for the encouraging kudos.

lindadw: Thanks. "Old Salem" is very peaceful restored historic village.

Arlene: I really like early morning light -promise of a new day!

Chammi: Thanks. I intentionally softened edges and colors in the background trees and house to give more focus to the main subject.

Sassafrassa: With your having been here before, you know of the peacefulness and beauty of Old Salem. So many things have been painted so many times by so many artists! It's very challenging to not be repetitious and to be original in one's interpretations. The good thing is that we all have our own special way of working with the materials of our art and our own signature ways of "playing with the brush".

Beautiful painting:)and really expresses the tranquility of the place. I been at Old Salem a few times. We lived in Charlotte , NC for 28 years and now we live 15 min, away from Charlotte . Our son lived in Raleigh for a long time so on our way to visit him we visited Winston Salem:)

Lovely work! Great colors and light in the building, and I love the contrasting background with soft and cool colors. The misty foliage is my favorite, it is very softly done and lovely :)
