Hello, Jan. An interesting work, so keep working on it. I don't have the kind of patience to work out a "dead painting" either grisaille or verduccio, but am often fascinated that some artists do. As for subject matter, it's all right -- IMO -- and must have attracted you enough to work over it to a final painting. The only thing I can add is that when you post artwork the size of the piece should be mentioned.

I think it is very rustic and lifelike, you are quite good and I would love to see the finished piece.

beautiful. I have never mastered the color of wood and am in the middle of painting a wood boat. Would you mind sharing the colors you used and how you applied them?

No this one is not from DVD. I did it from the painting I saw on his website.
