I'm going to attempt to recreate this photo taken at the Gatun Locks along the Panama Canal of a palm tree IN GLASS MOSAIC.
The size will be 12" x 36."

I'm a little hesitant because of the complexity and mid-range tones, but I think I can pull it off. I haven't failed yet in this medium!

That will be gorgeous! Somehow I see putting purple where the red is....just an idea that popped into my head. (I love purples & greens together!)

After three days - 5-6 hours:

Yes, I, too, like purple and green together, but I thought complimentary colors would work best here.
Thanks all for noticing.

Thanks Diane, Karen and Dove96. The glass is glued to plywood which has been sealed with two coats of gesso, front and back.

I've grouted, painted the grout and sent it to the framers. Will post picture as soon as I get it back.

That is a great piece of work, there is hardly any difference in the photograph and the finished product. Keep it up.

Thanks for all your comments.

It's even more beautiful in person with all the reflections of light.
