This was just for the fun of it I did it on a peice of Matt board just to see how the matt board would take pastels.

Scotty i like this pulls you right in! I really like the "raw"ness it gives off.
So what did you think? I cut a whole bunch of matboard and put colorfix primer over them for outdoor stuff. Like the sturdiness of it.

 Wow! Really your best trees, yet! Good color, and sence of the time of the day----also good sence of how big the trees are!!! The light going thru is appearent and wonderful. Did you use any primer on the matboard? A clear Colorfix would be good, maybe---or even a colored version. I ask because it would give you more tooth---and the color of the matboard fades, especially in the sun or a lighted room. My x-brother-in-law did a pastel on black mat-board and the black( as he left a lot of it show) really faded. All in all, this is a very nice painting and really gives me ideas!!

Thanks Donna
Thanks Tanja
Thanks Betsy, I did not prime it and as you can see with the sky the matboard shows through, I did not blend any of it, which is something I normally do, so to that effect it was not what I thought. However it does seem to hold alot of pastels.
Thanks Paula
Thanks Charlie, No framing it and it's as done as it will get was just for the fun of it, a test of sorts.
Thanks Jo
Thanks Imaybe, no primer on the matboard, and it seems to take a lot of pastels, could have added even more to it. It was just for the fun of it so if it fades thats ok.

Great! I really envy people who can work loose but get a coherent outcome.
