Title: Portrait of Andrew Wyeth
Dimension: 11 x 14
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!
I used an underbase of graphite for this, paint thinner over it, colored pencil on top for a sort of watercolor effect.
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Any comments, reactions, criticisms are wonderful! Thank you!

Just wanted to add that this is a detail shot...you have the whole head in the drawing/painting, of course.

I like the results of your technique!

Like it also. It holds an expression and yet comes across like a wood cut. That's art!

Strong expression and artfully conceived.

Thank you, Corby, TGSloth, yd, and Bill, for your very helpful comments!--I feel that I'm gaining so much (knowledge, technique, ideas) :) from posting and critiquing on this site. Yd, I can't post the entire work; it won't fit on my current scanner.

I saw your other post on Anne Sexton (very nice work), and really like your style of work here. My only crit here is the handling of his garment - it tends to make him look like one of the Star Trek crew, and not quite in keeping with Andrew Wyeth's persona. Very minor, and just my two cents worth

Dear CB Carnell,
You gave me a great laugh here, and I know you're right. Thank you! I knew I saw that shirt somewhere before!:)
