I love your painting Angie. The loose, expressive brushwork is wonderful! :)

Trying to respond from my blackberry for the first time on WC. :D. Thanks so much Janet. I think the wmo really suit the way I paint.

What brand of WMO are you using?

they are the ones readily available to me in my area...and I like them...have been looking at the Holbein in my CheapJoes sales paper though :)

Thank you Angie! I keep hearing that the W&N Artisan are stiffer and I'm starting to wonder whether they would be better for a paiterly approach. I'll give them a try. I use the Holbein rite now and I do like them.

yes, i can see that - the folks that have tried several would know about the texture of the paints and a stiffer paint prolly does suit me much more :)
i look forward to you trying the w/n out.

Love the portrait Angie! And I'm not really a portait kind of person (sorry all you wonderful portraitists!). Also nice to hear something positive about Artisan for a change.
great painterly approach, and it works well.
Just a couple of things - his right eye is on a higher level than his left, and I don't see his right nostril?
