I actually saw these last weekend on Rt 303... the guy was still making these... it seems early to me?? It is still July....I thought hay got cut in the fall?

I like this one.. No actually where I live they have already done two cuts and are growing for the third cut. We've had enough rain this year to get three. The man who cuts/bales the field infront of my house never leaves them there long enough to photograph let alone paint them. When the grass seed heads form they are ready to be cut. That is when it has the most protein in it for the livestock.

I took this photo on the 7th of July seemed early to me also.
Very nice painting btw I think the colours are very natural.

Crazywoman - thanks - it makes sense to me now. I dont know anything about agriculture except what I like to paint.

It was taken in south England, near where I live, I'm flagged Scotland as it's my origin.

Here in Virginia we have had a lot of rain, so more hay to cut! It has been really cool the last few days for July. I like your violet shadows!
