This was really helpful. I just have 20 Pans at the moment, and I didn't find them easy to use, but watching Donna has inspired me and I see more in my future!

This is excellent! Donna A. has a number of shorter PanPastel clips on You Tube as well.

Thanks, Jenny!! Yep, I think it was posted only late last week. Good find!!

(I notice out of the corner of my eye how she holds the paper towel roll in her hand, so as to have it handier. Good practical tip.)

You're right: she does wonderful work. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Jan, it was late when I spotted the video, and even with the upload date, I wasn't positive it was a brand new video and not a revamp of a previous one. Once I viewed the complete video, I was sure it was new, but I no longer trust my memory.

It was fascinating watching her work.

I haven't used the Pan Pastels, but I have some of the sponges, and wiping them on a paper towel really cleans them. I use a towel on my work table. Cleaning the sponges with soap and water doesn't get rid of all the stains, but hopefully it keeps the sponges from clogging with pastel dust.

Thanks for posting the link! I love her videos and this is one of her best. I'm glad she did a good long one this time and the painting is so incredible.

Thank you, Donna!

Hi, everyone! Glad you all are enjoying the PanPastel videos! The PanPastel ARE amazing and marvelous to use! And so easy---once you get a bit of a feel for using them! Just be sure you use a variety of pressures on any of the sponge tools to give variety---and use small, medium and large strokes with any sponge tool you use. The variety in both gives you such a wonderfully wider range of qualities! One thing I noticed at IAPS was that so many of the folks who tried the PanPastel at the booth there made little tiny strokes all the same, no matter what tool they were using at the time. Using different directions with the strokes is something else to keep in mind!

Thank you, Don and rgb for noting the various links to each demo. The presentation were edited to let them be pretty short for quick viewing, but the most recent one of a full painting is longer! But still under 8 minutes! :heart:

You can also find the videos at the PanPastel.com web site. It was really fun to shoot them! Hope it give you all some additional ideas about using these luscious and delightful pastels!!! Enjoy! Enjoy! Take good care! Donna ;-}
