I try not to have too many sales but every once and a while I pull out my already painted 20% sign and put it up by the road. In the past I put it up in the dead of winter to get a couple sales I might of not gotten. But I put it up this last memorial day with good results.
My question is. Is it better to have a sale when you know your visitor #'s are going to be up like Memorial Day, 4Th of July ,etc. or when sales are slow in the lulls?
Thanks for anyone's insights on this.

Aren't you asking for your buyers to wait for a "sale" if you do this regularly?

I agree . I hate to have a sale but every once and a while I think its cool. I just wondering what strategy is best? when the # are bit or when its slow?

I meant when the # of people is big.

This depends on your business model. Who are your buyers? Who do you want your buyers to be?
If you're trying to cultivate local buyers, then the sale during peak times is not great, because it means foreign travelers. If you want to just sell to whomever, then neither is really key to your sales. If you want to sell to buyers outside of the community then the sale is best.
Also are you trying to find buyers who just buy it because it's a deal, or buyers who consider it an investment? What is the image you are trying to establish for yourself?
The lesson here is that the strategy that works best is dependent on you and what you want. It ill matters what others think, our strategies will not be right for your business. I feel maybe you are trying to find someone to agree with your predetermined view maybe, but all you have to consider is your unique business model.
