View Full Version : Palms in the Fog (x-post from Plein Air)

All this Southern California fog (we call it May Gray - soon to be June Gloom) is making me nuts. So as they say - if you can't beat em.....

These fan palms are everywhere here so I found a place out of the drizzle and tried this scene. Sure hope the sun comes out again soon...

Nice work, Randy! They almost look like they are surveying their empire? :)

Now that's making lemonade out of lemons! I really like this. You've captured the mistiness beautifully and the composition works well.

Great job of painting.

I too live in S. Ca, and the "June Gloom" is right on schedule. May kept it to mornings only, at least where I live. But you've made great use of the odd weather we always have this time of the year.

I'm just hoping we don't have one of those summers where it never goes away. Of course, we don't have to live through a 'real' winter like in Michigan so - I should stop complaining about a little cloudy weather! ;)

Thanks for your comments....

Randy, glad I took a look at this. I think it is delightful. Lovely moody painting with great brushstrokes.
