View Full Version : It could be Dinner!

Now don't laugh! At our house this could be dinner. When my kids were little it was great becasue they only ate the leaves & left the heart for me. I love it! Unfortunately, they don't do that any more.....This is just a quickie still life.
12" X 12" gallery wrapped canvas.
We have those in our garden Gayle! going to waste actually because I don't know how to cook them..........well I tried to, but I didn't like the result! lol

Oh how I wish I was a neighbor! Just trim them, boil with garlic for 45 minutes and then eat them with yogurt & saffron or mayonaise - some people like drawn butter but we never use butter. Some people use ranch dressing but we do not. You know of course you only eat the soft portion at the bottom of the leaf and then the heart!

Gayle. My mouth is watering. Love artichokes. Yours is delightful - particularly like the light.

Thanks so much guys! I am amazed at how many have never developed the taste for fresh artichokes! They really are wonderful and go nicely with some lovely wine.

Really like the highlights in this!
Gayle, you have inspired me. My culinary goal for the week is to buy an artichoke and prepare it! I have had them a few times, but only in salads.

Deb - You go girl! It usually helps if someone shows you how to deal with them the first time! Maybe you can find instructions on the web...
Thanks very much Brian & Kathrin!
