Hi all, it has been a long time since I have even been on wet canvas. Not the best year for me all around.
This is stepping out of the box for me. I have mainly doing much more realistic pieces in the past. This is on a 12x12" canvas black background acrylic using interference, iridescent , and normal acrylics in tar gel.

I have done a few others but this is my marine one.

Hi Randall,

It was fun to do. I have some different ones in the Acrylic forum. It is not what I really wanted but it was fun and worked out okay.

Welcome back, Randi-Lee.
It certainly is a frenzy, quite abstract, and reminds me of those deep sea pics one sees of garish, exotic fish and jellyfish against a jet black bacground.

Thanks Marty. Yes, it is totally something very different for me, very abstract. I had it in an art show and everyone kept saying it looked like Octopi, which of course if is.

Hi Randi-Lee ....so lovely to see you back again  Sorry to hear that you have had a bad year so far ..... I hope that from now on things will be better!
This looks like you had a lot of fun painting and that is what it's all about ....the bright colours against the dark look great!

It certainly feels alive! Very unique piece, hopefully a buyer will find it just as interesting

Thanks Anne and Brian.
I probably would have had a better year in Ireland.
Well I hope someone finds it interesting also. Although someone did like my Dancing Goddesses that is posted in the Acrylics forum.

The Octopi can rest now I have started on my next one which is much more traditional. It involves three things I have wanted to do for awhile. It is a moon and night picture(definite challenge for me), Dunluce castle (near Anne),and and old Galley ship sailing in will post it when it is done.
