Here's the rose I've been working on.....
5"x7" gallery-wrapped canvas.
A very special "thank you" to Idylbrush for letting me use his photo of this Peace Rose as my reference....and for "sharing" his garden with the QDC.

It's looking great so far Dee... a bit more deepening of your shadows and darker values and you'll have it made.
that rose is just luscious!

Looking very good. Like Kathy said a darker shadows will make the lucious colors pop.
Howard is a sweety for sharing his garden with us.

This is lovely. I agree with the others on deeper shadows.

I'll have to tweak it a bit....but the pic really came out more "washed out" than it really is. The painting IRL is much, much better. :o
One problem I had, at first, was the deepest shadows looking "dirty". But that was when I was trying to make more of a contrast than the grayscaled ref pic showed.
I need a better camera & set up for taking pics of paintings.

Can you make the pic smaller ? It's purdy big on my monitor and I bet it would look even better than it does right now.

Really lovely Dee. One could spend a lifetime painting the things in Howard's garden, I've still got one I asked to use and will be awhile.. this is coming along "fine"! Love the water droplets!

The rose looks great. I would lose the background. It is competing.

Gorgeous Dee, great job on the rose!! I think maybe a little more darks just behind the rose will realy make it pop out!
Love the pastel colors! Well done!
