View Full Version : Been awile. Got a few questions

Well I've been doing good, for my most recent painting though I need to know how to create a blinding white light at the end of a hall. I want the light coming from the doorway. I figure I'd just gradient the hallway to the door then it reaches pure white when I'm fully at the door.

Sounds like the best solution. And if you use warm colors leading up to it and cool colors (or vise versa) for the light it will give even a stronger "blinding" effect.

Also since the light would be very bright and I have a subject's front face in the painting would the light(from the back) shine to the outsides of the persons right profile?
It's basically a person standing upright in the middle of the painting, and on the right side the door is beaming light, im not sure if I need to add some reflection of the light to the person because it is far behind him.
any advice is welcome :3

Not sure, do you have a sketch or reference photo? I'd have to see it to give a suggestion.

Rim lighting may be helpful if I am understanding your description.
