Well, there's been alot on my plate lately, so it has taken awhile to get this one done (also have been working on a difficult portrait). This was part of our homework in the class Kat taught on reflections.
I played some more with the modling paste...so very much fun!! I really enjoy texture...there is so much to learn tho'! Hope you enjoy this.
C&C is welcome, it might be signed but it is not varnished yet.
Thanks for looking!
Ooh yes Susan, that texture is scumptious! Lovely play of light on the standing stump. Nice job!

That is some neat texture! What did you use to move the paint around like on the bark, surely not just brush?

Julie, the main trees are made of modling paste...then I paint on top of it. The paste adds the texture which I am just learning to use!!

This is great Susan and if this is your first use of modelling paste then we clearly have lots more goodies to look forward to. Well done!

Great textures Susan - they work well.
C&C - I think that line across the middle is just a little too hard - be better if it were softened in places and pehaps broken too ..... but it's your painting! ;) :D

Well done Susan. Great textures. Really nice work. Just one tiny crit. I feel you should lose the bird. It looks sort of drawn on and the rest of the work is so good, you don't need the bird.
05-05-2009, 01:14 PM
Thanks, Chammi!! I was never that happy with the bird :)
05-06-2009, 07:32 PM
Very nice Susan! I especially like the texture of the tree and the foreground grass in the sunlight. (I agree with Chammi about the bird.)
05-07-2009, 12:11 AM
Thanks, Deb!! I hope to have the bird gone soon!!

 Beautiful textures, Susan, especially on that front tree trunk. I'm also impressed by the depth of the back row of trees...so nice! It was great to see your birches again too! :D
