Hi All;

I saw in a Pastel Journal article that an artist was using a canvas that was similar to velour in texture. Does anyone know what this is? The artist is Robert Jessel, if anyone knows him, could you ask him?

Thanks so much!

Martha

Martha, is this (http://www.rajessel.com/index.html)the Robert Jessel whose work you saw? If so, you can e-mail him and ask your questions. Oh, and if it is, I interviewed him last year--he's a very polite, quiet man. I wouldn't hesitate to ask him your questions.

Hi Martha,

I also read that article & would like to try the canvas. If you email him & get where it is available, could you post the answer here? I would email him myself, but I don't want to drive the man nuts with emails asking the same question. Thanks.

The canvas is made by Fredrix. It comes in a roll, 54"x6yards, and is called "pastel velvet." Check Jerry's Artarama or Dick Blick.
