I love the starkness and the subdued colour scheme. I think you've very nicely conveyed what you intended. Has quite an emotional punch, knowing why you painted it.

You certainly got your point across. After watching several shows about this great drought, I can't imagine how these people coped, let alone survived. The painting shows the desolation and loneliness of their struggle...Lenore

Nicely illustrated...in the midst of such desolation would there be such remnants of green along the porch edge? It seems rather incongruous, at the same time by its contrast it really emphasizes the desolation.
