I like your wet sand, but you waves and foam don't look so natural to me in this painting. I find them too uniform. I don't like the blue line running under the foam, I suggest you break it up some.. Use a colour that blends in, not contrasts so much.

Some highlights on those little rocks would be good.

The little boy is very nicely painted and he sure is having a heap of summer fun..

The froth on the red hull of the yacht, is wonderful.

Hi Laudesan,

Thank you for your reply, when I stood back and looked at it I thought there is something I have not done. But I couldnt see it until you drew my eyes to it. I have had a go at fixing it what do you think I hope I havent blended it in to much.

Good work, Pat.
Like JJ, I find the waves too regular in shape. If you have some references of wavelets washing up a beach, study them to see the shapes they take.

Hi Marty, Brian and randall,
I am going to the gold coast today to watch the shore line and take some pictures. Glad you all like the painting. Randall yes it is the spatter technique on the sand, I have only done the two paintings using this technique, I painted the whole canvas this way, then using a pencil when it was dry to draw the boy on.

Hi Mooz49,
Glad you like the painting I did this is only the second painting that I have done of the waves on the beach.

I am sitting in our caravan on the gold coast, sifting through all the photos of the beaches we have visited in the last 4 days. I will post some up as reference photos so you can see the movement etc.

Best Regards
