Here are the steps to show how I did this small landscape ; from start to finish :

A quick underpainting in transparent glazes : just to get in the basic composition and shapes , and to get rid of the white of the paper.

I darkened this a bit with ultramarine ; as the underpainting will remain visible in the shadows ; also I suggested some shapes by outlining them with a pointed brush.

I started opaque painting with the pale yellow of foreground fields and the warm green of the background slopes ; using a large brush.

I continue to develop the house ; its surrounding walls and the fields ;
using a slightly smaller brush and thick, buttery paint.

Almost done : in fact I would leave this panting here ; though it could be developed further ; adding further smaller detail. But I am wary of
overworking a painting : " paintings are not finished, they are abandoned," said Cezanne. :)

Like the palette, the surface texture and the stopping point. I find it most appealing overall.

What size is this?

Such a pleasure to look on.
You left to finish whatever might be with your own imagination.
Perfect!
