Hi, here is a winter landscape with some wolves for fun. I don't do landscapes very often but decided to try something new. Let me know what you think.

SPOOKY, DANGEROUS, THREATENING, AWE-INSPIRING, but NOT cute little doggies! This is a great painting and that "in the moonlight" look is done really well. I'm impressed.
Thanx 4 posting, this pleaseth our eyes.

Eerie and cold but my you've caught the mood with the wolves being masters of their environment. Great work.

This one would rival any Bateman! Brilliant work in terms of.... well, everything! The snow is so well rendered and the wolves are a wonderful (albeit, daunting) surprise as the eye travels up the canvas. Okay, I'm backing away slowly... and thinking about deleting everything I've ever posted here...

I was waiting for this one. It turned out fantastic Ian. I'm not sure why but carnivores are much more satisfying than cute little birdies. Beautiful.

My 16-yr-old niece is a wolf enthusiast, to put it mildly. She would freak out over this painting! I love it myself. What a fantastic mood you've created here!

EDIT: Just wanted to add something. Where we can't see the prey, it feels as if the wolves are stalking ME! I have goosebumps.

I love this! The rendering of the snow, the overall colour scheme, the composition and, above all, the inclusion of the wolves which introduce a sinister and scary mood to the painting. Great work!

Some people make me think the same way Coralie - including Ian!

Feel like disposing of all materials ;)

...it feels as if the wolves are stalking ME! - yes! I'm feeling ambushed too!

It's pretty fantastic Ian.

Won't you do a WIP please for the forum? Then it could well be a contender for our Hall of Fame :D

This is simply gorgeous and well executed! At first glance I hadn't even noticed the wolf on the left. When I did see him I felt stalked, hunted! Great mood expressed here! Wonderful work Ian!

Ian: You have done a terrific job capturing the intense cold of our winters. Love the blues, reminds me of the day for night shots in the old films.

Well done!
