I loved this photo and wanted to give it another go. I like this darker version better overall. I think the morning light reads better. 9 x 12" acrylic on paper.

No! I'm from Southern California, but I love it up here. The four seasons just rock. In San Diego, you have to pay careful attention to detect spring...

Thank you all so very much. Your comments tickled me (about the puppy)...I'm a dog lover so I liked the analogy.

Can't find a better sky than that. very dramatic. A burst of sun. Wonderful.

Celeste, This is fantastic!! The directional strokes really make for a dramatic lead to the sun on the horizon and the sharp contrasts in light and dark so well balanced with an interesting and appropriate palette. I learn from studying your paintings and am so glad that you post here!

Celeste, lovely work. You've captured the big sky look that is so very much part of the mid-states and prairies. (Along with Flattwo's work I'm going to go get all home-sick for big skies, mountains and glens.)

Whoa! I wondered if there could be a sky as good as the version 1, and you just outdid yourself! Too good. :)

I like this!!!

I have a couple of photo's of amazing sunset, one over the local waterfront, and the other over a local parking lot, and I have been wondering how to tackle them.. I like your palette heaps.
