This is a quick pen-drawing that I did last night of a canyon:) . Its on cardstock paper 11 X 8.5 inches. All C/C is welcome! :wave:

Hmm, if the shadows below the foreground plants are so hard, it seems the entire far wall should be in shadow. Nice concept, though. Almost needs bg plant(s) or tree(s) to really set scale. Maybe a few on some rocky ledges...

You have the beautiful directive guidelines drawn in...and the contours are very inviting for the explorer in us to investigate visually the crevices and rocks and wonderful forms that should be detailed here...and, my suggestion is...that you do just that...add the details and yes, shadows...and you will have a picture worthy of admiration.

It's a great start but, as has been said needs something to focus on to set depth a bit better. Nice idea...

I like that little ledge running around the cliff wall on R hand side of drawing. And that the canyon walls fil most of the drawing with only a bit of sky at the top - placing ourselves pretty far down in the canyon. It's enough to get my imagination going . .
