Kneeling Hearts is what it feels like to mourn the loss of an infant.(black cloaks) Kneeling gives Hope (bright background)
MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
I try to get people to connect with their feelings. Do we feel this painting?

this subject matter hits home for me...
9 pound boy...abgar score 10...died 5 hours old...
this reminds me of the dreams I had afterward
not exactly...but close enough
it was a very painful time
when I did not feel any hope or joy
maybe I should not have answered this post
but it was a long time ago
and you wanted an honest answer
I would have to say that I do not see hope here
as I did not then...
what I see is the woman...
cut to the quick...brought to her knees...with pain...
entirely covered with the black cloak...
not yet ready to see the hope or joy...
it is well done, ...to take me back there...

Yes, you definitely feel this work. I do not feel joy here but enormous sorrow. There is much aloneness here and withdrawl from the world as the mother hides under the black cape. The line up of babies reminds me of soldiers in the ranks.............very moving

Thank you all for your comments. To all who have lost I am sorry, and know how it feels.
This one is part of the same theme. But this one does represent the /Anger you feel at such loss:crying:
It's titled "Mourning"

And the 3rd. Titled " Counting Sparrows"
"Not even a sparrow shall fall from it's nest without his knowing it"
Gives hope of all the precious lives lost will forever be remembered.
