Ok I'm game - It's easy since I've only done one still life this year there was no choice. This was an excerise in depicting white. It's 11" X 14"" Acrylice on canvas.
I'm calling it April 14th....

I think it would have to be this one, because of a comment on my site from another artist Candance Moore (http://candacexmoore.blogspot.com/), where she saw the word JOY in the piece.
Always interesting what others see in your work.
Philosophy - or three items in a still life.

The resource photo for this had been on my shelf for literally, years!! It had been awaiting the right medium until I finally settled on acrylic. It is a pair of my father-in-law's coveralls. He passed away over 40 years ago when my husband was only 19. Once done, I decided that Dan should have it and it was the right decision as he was ever so pleased.
8 x 10 acrylic on canvas
However, I had wanted it for an upcoming exhibition so I needed to do another version very quickly. I opted for the faster medium of pastel and did this version
8 x 10 pastel on Sennelier's La Carte
I am hard-pressed to figure out which I like the best.

Jenny really your painting is amazing. The Jar & Apple seems to be a realistic glittering one. The Flashing in the side of the Jar is a wonderful creativity. Really it a marvelous one.
This thread is for artists to display only....no comments required - it will make the thread too long!:)

I don't normally post in this forum, but since I'm developping a new passion for still life I thought I'd post. This one is called "Timeless" and it's a 16 x 20 acrylic on canvas. The statue was bought in Greece by my boyfriend, as well as the vase, which is a repro of a vase estimated to be about 500 BC. So, I threw in the clock and called it Timeless. It's my favorite because of the clock, which is the second I've painted, but I'm happy with how it turned out. Since the year's still new, I hope to have much better ones as the year goes on! :)

This is oil on gessoed masonite
painted as a demo for an art class.
It's 9" x 12". Flowers aren't my favorite
subject but they are harder than
they look and are a good challenge.

Since this is my first still life, I guess that makes it my favorite. I am working on another now. Who knows, it may become my fave after it is done.

"WE NEED TO TALK" - This is one I did for laughs, maybe ala The Sopranos. Done digitally from scratch (ArtRage), in the settings of water color.
