It has been awhile since I have painted in pastels and it feels really good. This was a fun one from the reference library (thanks to the contributor. The painting is done on LaCarte paper and is around 8 x 10 inches. All comments and critiques welcome. Thanks for looking,

Hi Linda,

This is very nice. It conveys that nostalgic feeling of the old, rusty truck very well. My only comment would be that the value of the blue on the truck & the value of the blue on the boards (bg) are very close. It would probably spotlight the truck if darkened the bg a little. Just my opinion, of course. Well done.

I love painting and paintings of old vehicles. this is no exception. The colors are strong and the yet I'm not reading the vehicles left blinker for some reason.

It's great to see the lines in both give a strong layer and texture to the piece. Good choices in harmony.

Thanks so much for your comments. There was something bothering me about this one, and I think Tanya hit on it. The wall is too close in value and color to the truck. I will definitely fix that.

Linda this is very good i always wanted to try a truck or camper but afraid i didn't have the patience to get the lines right. This is def. along the lines that i like. With the upcoming fix of the background it will look great. I do think the Barb has a valid point with the blinker, alittle bit of catch light caught into it would make it sparkle.

So nice to see you painting again Linda. YOu certainly got that old rusty metal very well. I agree with the others about changing the backround colour. The excellent truck is getting lost against it.
