View Full Version : WDE March 14 Iris and a Friend at market

Thought I'd try the 2 of them together..sitting at the umbella stand waiting for Mom or Dad to come back with a treat...but looking just a tad more worried than I thought to make!
Medium: Derwent sketching for darks, Rexel Cumberland HB for the rest...oh, and forefinger for smudging!( Don't like tortillions, prefer a "hands on' approach ):)
Paper & Size: Robert Bateman Recycled Sketch 11x14/110 lb
Cheers to All, and Thank-you Ai, for posting us these 2 Little Thai Flowers!
Very very cute. They look so good together.

I really like the combined images here. The comp sets a nice mood of the crowded market without it being too busy. They do look like they are getting fussy at mom taking so long to get her groceries. lol. Iris is particularly nicely realized with a minimal of fuss. Great expression on her.

Beautifully done, Iris in particular is a terrific likeness
This is marvelous Chris. What a dynamic combination !!. You get Iris's likeness spot on. I love how you add the umbrella background to get the market scene with out being too busy background. I love it.

nicely done! i like how there's just enough shading on the girls to push them out from the background. i never could figure out tortillions either. nothing like sticking your finger in the dirty stuff...lol.

Beautiful drawing. I love it when the darks really are dark and not wishy washy gray. What a difference. Great combination of three pictures. Inspired and wonderful outcome.
